The only possible excuse is that he didn't realise Kaspar had gone forward but he should have noticed that as well. Even the ref should have seen it because it was so obvious. Very poor and the officials are extremely lucky that it didn't matter in the end. Thought the referee in general today was poor. Making us play on after Vardy had been taken out was ridiculous and he gave no end of 50 50s to Liverpool.

Im guessing the linesman wasn't concentrating and assumed Benteke had been in the Leicester half, but he clearly isn't. Well spotted, that's a horrendous bit of officiating.

Webbo Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Unless they've changed the offside rule, which is possible, it's been changed a lot in the last 10 years, you can be offside if you receive the ball in your opponents half.

We need DB11 to settle this. .....yes that has nothing to do with this situation though you just can't be off from a direct gk. That's offside without a shadow no clearing up required.

Larry_LCFC Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Just to confuse things more, offside is called right at the very end after Lucas has the follow up shot from Morgans deflection. Nobody was offside when Benteke shot. But Kasper takes the free kick from where Lucas was.
