Schmeichel 8 - Steady display, good performance.

Simpson 8 - Overall superb again today. He made a particular header in the first half which virtually saved us from conceding, he got a slight touch on it to send it out for a corner. Impressive throughout.

Morgan 8 - Solid at the back, kept the back four organised. Consistently excellent, having a great season.

Huth 8 - Great performance against his old club. Defended resiliently, him and Wes are a great partnership together.

Fuchs 8 - Good defensive work today, got forward a few times, and helped Albrighton in the attacks.

Mahrez 8 - Looked pretty much back to his best, amazing quick feet and skill to assist the third goal.

Drinkwater 9 - Outstanding. Composed on the ball, a range of really good ball distribution, and a goal to add to a wonderful afternoon for him.

Kante 10 - Won everything. He covers so much of the pitch, immense work rate. Supports the attacks, and his defensive work is a real help for the team. Shooting ability is good at times too. He continues to be an awesome member of this team. MOTM.

Albrighton 8 - As usual he always tries his best every match. He helps defend and is good going forward with his crosses. A few nice runs down the wing as well.

Okazaki 9 - One of our best performers today in my opinion, especially first half. Neat turns and nice close control. He's in real decent form. Hopefully he's ok after going off.

Vardy 8 - Very good display. Like Mahrez, he looks as if he's back to his best. Tidy finish for his goal, worked hard closing down throughout the game. Pleased he's back on the scoresheet.

(SUB) Ulloa 8 - Really decent when he came on. Held up play, linked up the play, nice touches. Also good positioning for his goal.

(SUB) Gray N/A - Was only on a couple of minutes, hard to give an opinion.

Most of the guys got a seven from me, I felt everybody in the team today played there part at some point. I was tempted to give MOTM to Okazaki as I felt he was every where, that guys work rate is incredible. However In the end I decided to give it to Kante both were equally as good but Kante managed to complete the ninety so that's won really it for him.

While I understand it's hard for some to separate Kante from Drinkwater in terms of performance - can there really be three points difference in favour of a man who didn't score or effect a direct assist, and one who did?

No - I'm not trying to say one was MoM over the other.

But in terms of the three points difference is there no consideration of how important it was for Leicester to get that lead just before half-time? And how important it was to get a second goal to virtually seal victory?

People rating either player a point or so better than the other I can understand, but three points? Isn't a goal and assist in such an important game against potential European rivals worth about seven or eight points on its own?

It's just a question. I only listened on the radio so I might be right out of order.

Kanté absolutely dominated not just the middle of the park today but every zone of the pitch.  Stoke's players will be having nightmares about him tonight.  Shout out to Drinky for his goal and that sublime ball to Vardy for the 2nd.

Edit: Gave the ref a 7 - there weren't any contentious decisions to get right but I can't recall him getting anything wrong either, arguably a bit lenient on the yellows but it's not like he let the game get out of hand.

Schmeichel 8 - Thought he was in total control of his area today, can't really fault much that he did, one important save to keep his clean sheet.

Simpson 7 - Rock solid defensively, limited going forward

Fuchs 7 - Actually thought his positioning was indifferent at times today, especially in the first half,  but it went unexposed and he was a useful outlet going forward.

Morgan 8 - In total control.

Huth 8 - Can't decide if he loses or gains a mark for his freekick.

Albrighton 7 - Very busy, final delivery really wasn't there today but so very involved with most of our good moves.

Kante 9 - Probably MOTM, absolutely everywhere. Doesn't really have a position does he?

Drinkwater 8.5 - Almost MOTM, was the beating heart of the side.

Mahrez 8 - A little too languid at times and his body language sometimes indifferent but when he turned it on he really turned it on, Stoke couldn't cope second half. Seeing Vardy score seemed to light the whole side up.

Shinji 8 - Was having one of his best games for us, holding the ball up well, lacking a little composure as ever.

Vardy 7 - Actually had a poor game all round, didn't look match sharp at all, but such a well taken goal and after that he went to another level. He's always been a confidence player and I fancy him to kick on again now.

Ulloa 8 - He's a donkey isn't he but we were better with him on the pitch, no disrespect to Okazaki. A goal and an assist for his cameo, can't ask for much more.

Gray N/A - My only disappointment of the day was not seeing more of him.

Ranieri 8 - No errors to speak of.

Ref 7 - Mike Dean was consistent in his application of the law for both sides and no major talking points.

Stoke 2 - Thought they were absolute pish, couldn't keep the ball at all, going in 1-0 down at HT was as much due to their own ineptitude as our ability. We went up a gear second half and brushed them aside.

I don't get to many games, today was just wonderful.

Fair question.

Felt like he gave the ball away a fair bit as he often does. I've watched (most of) the game again on Match Choice and upgraded him to an 8. The pass for the second goal was sublime and I didn't give it enough credit on first judgement.

The performance was Kante was borderline super human. And I refuse to downgrade him from a 10.

Noone below a 7, 8 for Simpson, Fuchs, DD, and 9 for Kante.

A very good performance allround. Despite being an entirely predictible selection and formation, there was a lot more variety. Kasper did some long, but also short passed it out. There was variety in the setpieces (Huth!!). At times the filling in was nearly total football.

A couple of days off before getting ready for Liverpool are richly deserved.

Ranieri -8- Got it pretty much spot on today and got us playing like 8 weeks ago.

Schmeichel -8- Spirit, passion, enthusiasm, and control. Still think he's in the top 5 keepers in the P/L.

Simpson -8- One of most consistent performers over the past few weeks when some others have been under par. Impressive throughout the game today.
Morgan -8- Consistently excellent, and like Simpson, has kept up his standards.
Huth -8- Much better after a few dicey games. Control and strength. And gave us all a good laugh with his superb free kick.
Fuchs -8- Like Huth, back to his best today. Sweetest left foot in the P/L. Throw ins also dangerous.

Mahrez -8- Please to see him perform like he can after a few disinterested performances. Hopefully he'll keep this up for the next 16 games.
Drinkwater -9- Superb and so pleased to see him score after some excellent shots recently. He works so well with Kante.
Kante -9.5-  Immense work rate. My MOTM n a game where is could have been him or Drinky. A goal would have earned him a 10.
Albrighton -8- Worked so hard again. Some dangerous crosses and good tracking back. Looked sharp after a couple of slightly poor games to his usual standard.

Okazaki -8- He has really picked up his game. He is fitting into the side well now and deserves his place. A 9 from me if he's scored.
Vardy -8- Excellent goal, trademark Vardy and overall very good display. Pleased to see him looking a little fitter.

SUBS:

Ulloa -8- Thought he came on a played his best game for us this season. Glad he scored and will do wonders for his confidence.
Gray -7- Not really on long enough for a true rating.

Officials -6.5- Didn't notice them, which means they were above average.

Stoke City -5- Minds obviously on the league cup. They are better than they played yesterday, and I'm pleased about that!

Footnote: Much as I love the FA cup, in our current position I'm so pleased we're out. With Arsenal & Man City having C/L and Arsenal, Man City, Man Utd, Tottingham, all in the FA cup, (Tottingham still in the E/L as well) and Man City in the League cup, we now have a 16 game season, with no complications. Whilst we rest up all our rivals have other fixtures to play which will tire and mentally strain them. Not to mention suspensions or injuries they may pick up in these extra games. The longer they all continue in these other competitions the better it is for us, as was shown yesterday with a Stoke side obviously having half their minds on the League Cup. Hopefully Liverpool will be shattered when we play them on Tuesday week after we've had a 10 day rest.
