Daggers Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 How about now? I declared us champions elect at Xmas. The only fear I harbour is quite how we'll conspire to shit on the success during summer? Because we will do something fücking stupid.
RichMC24 Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 I can't believe after how good it felt during the O'Neill years, with top half finishes, that with 11 games still to go we already have more points than any of those seasons. It really is incredible. Those years were brilliant, no worries or concerns. We won the games we were supposed to, caused the odd upset but ultimately following Leicester at that time was a fairly relaxing past time. Even the subsequent years have mostly been an inevitable series of events, relegation to League 1 hurt, but wasn't a surprise, the following promotions were excellent but nothing that we knew wouldn't happen eventually. Even last year, relegation looked certain and our lives as foxes fans seemed to continue to be a rollercoaster of relegations and promotions, as it always has been. But now this !! We are long past the point of finishing safely, playing out the season without a care in the world. We are long past the point where Europe is target, where Champs League is a target, that is now pretty much in the bag. We are in a ridiculous position where anything other than winning the league would be a crushing disappointment. It's a crazy statement but I think its true of most people, and I for one am not handling it at all well. Of all the ups and downs of the last 25-30 years, this is the most nervous, the most apprehensive and the most passionate I have felt in all of that time. How the players are coping with it all is beyond me. I'm a mess.
DillonLive Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Just enjoying every game.. But holding my heart as it's about to pop-out in every intense match. Contradicting, right?
foxfanazer Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 I still can't get out of my head that this is all some elaborate practical joke and we'll win the league to then get deducted 40 points for failing FFP.
Mayofox Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 It's when my Arsenal-supporting friend says "we'll try and do you a favour next week" that it all seems surreal. I hope the player's nerves don't kick in, like mine are.
Babylon Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 I'd feel fine if it wasn't for Spurs... I just think they look very very good.
Livid Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 I'd feel fine if it wasn't for Spurs... I just think they look very very good. Same here! The team look great, their fans are still a bunch of.......
EnglishOxide Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Spurs do look very good. They've won all 6 league games since we beat them! With West Ham and Arsenal coming up something has to give. They can't win 8 in a row surely!
Carl the Llama Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Spurs have been performing really well lately, who could have seen that group of players maintaining form like this for so long? If Leicester don't win the league I hope they do. Just to save me time if they do actually catch us: Spurs have always been a horrible route one team with 2 good players; take Kane or Alli out of that team and suddenly they aren't getting the same results. Would be really embarrassing if we can't win the title in a year where Spurs are the 'best' other team and just shows how bad the league is this year, I fear for England's CL coefficient.
Nalis Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 I imagine this is how winning the lottery feels like. I dont even think its 100% kicked in for me with an overwhelming sense of 'why us?'
Mythyaar Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 I caught a lad at work, a Man City fan, having a detailed look at our fixtures, in early December. I said "you can't seriously think we're a threat?!" But when he said "you are mate!" I began to enter a magical fantasy world of belief and excitement...and I really don't want to snap out of it!
foxfanazer Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 10 years out of the top flight. Mediocre seasons under the likes of Craig Levein. Relegation to the third tier for the first time in our history. Playoff heartaches, False dawns and a revolving door for managers and players Enjoy every minute of this fellas as each and eevery one of us deserves this
kyleolly Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 I'd feel fine if it wasn't for Spurs... I just think they look very very good. but we still beat them at the Lane!
MANFACE Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 I'm chilled about it. People here in wales keep giving me funny looks when I say all we want is 40 points.
Foxxed Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Pretty much forgotten about the league. Just concentrating on Schlupp now. Easier.
biggs Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Enjoying this season to the nth degree. I feel very confident in this team and so believe Spurs. MC and Arsenal will fall back over the next couple of weeks. I can see teams taking it to them a little harder consciously or not but the energy of football fans everywhere is behind us and I think players on other teams will want to make it as difficult as possible for the usual top teams. Just a feeling.
