Tuna Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Ok, we didn't sign a striker on deadline day. Never a great idea to get someone in so late as it is usually a panic buy who isn't your first choice and rarely works out. I cannot see the point in bringing someone in you don't really want and are unsure about - leave that to Allardyce and Redknapp and the other struggling sides. Writing was on the wall when it became apparant the Musa deal was off. Kramaric did not play and thus didn't need replacing. We have enough capable cover in the forward positions. We have added 3 talented youngsters to the squad and have more strength in depth overall. We have kept our best players, and these lads have gotten us this far on their own, there is no reason they cannot take us all the way through the season. Lets not underestimate the experience they have gained so far! What if Vardy gets injured. What if he doesn't? You can say the same about Giroud, Kane and Aguero. Lets not worry about it. Whatever happens, this will be the best season we have had for a generation. There are very exciting times ahead. We've 15 cup finals left, so please lets not panic, forget about this and get behind the lads in the next couple of months.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Over half an hour left, this is where eBay mentality kicks in and we go mental with Top's credit card
Corky Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 I agree, would've liked another striker in but it's not happening. Ulloa needs to up his game, Okazaki has been playing well and Vardy needs to continue and hopefully stay fit. The midfield, excluding Mahrez, could offer some goals too. Plenty to play for and the squad is capable.
Guest Cujek Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 just seen fat Ronlado at morrisons, buying a double decker...

Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 In which case I'm copyrighting both RonLADo and Ron-lardo

Totally agree this squad has got us to where we are I can't see why people think we are going to pick up a load of injuries, 15 in 16 weeks pretty sure we will be fine!
NewEnglandFox Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 We held on to everyone that plays and unsurprisingly lost the ones that didn't while also bringing in 2 hot prospects. It's a great window. Whatever panic is happening in the other thread, if we lost 10 of our starting XI there would have been a greater pandemonium even if we found a respectable replacement. We have 2 of the hottest transfer targets since the last window closed and they're still here. That's an accomplishment! Then people found out we're more than just a 2 man team and we held on to those guys too. Another great accomplishment. Last choice at every position is a revolving door job. It's hard to find someone complacent sitting in the stands every weekend. We have those loanees if we need them. Cover would have been nice but it's not as bad as it seems.
UPinCarolina Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/101980-leicester-city-vs-sunderland-match-thread/?p=3526286Gary Lineker (say what you will) said we could be top from August to May back on 08 August 2015.It's Monday, 1 February 2016 and we are 3 points clear. Just a little Valium for the FoxesTalk collective self.
CKB Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Sort of what I said in another thread... Yes it's disappointing but it's all about what if this and what if that, well that's not in our control we just have to get on with it and see where it takes us. If this team has got us to where we are now then why should we get all in a panic because we couldn't get a deal done? The squad has 15 games left and should be fit for them being the modern day pros they are. Injuries like I said are not in our hands and can happen at anytime with anyone. We could have signed Musa for 25 million and he could have broke his leg first game Let's just enjoy the ride and see where these players can take us. Right now they aren't doing to bad are they.....
WesMorganGod Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Its been a fantastic window for me.. the most important thing was we kept Vardy and Mahrez when so many big clubs want them, that was the main thing. We didn't need to sign anyone, we are doing great, don't fix what isn't broken. This teams balance and spirit is fantastic, glad we haven't signed a striker that was not needed. We are top scorers in league with Man City. There is only 15 games left, we are well equipped and only have the league games to play. No money needed to be wasted, thankfully it hasn't. Remy is a Norwich or Sudnerland player who would get dropped there to be honest.. he won't pass to Vardy and it would be a disaster, said this from the start. I am glad. Great window.. you will see......
Sionnach gorm Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 The players signed look all top quality. I'm happy about that.

Jordan Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 And if he does? For six months, we've been laughing at "experts" and other fans that were asking the same question.

Yea but I don't give a crap about other fans most of them want us to fail, and as a fan you just what every thing covered and no real big weakness', and if vardy does get injured. We will be fighting for top 4
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Anybody else tired of sanctimonious gimps starting threads appealing for calm and common sense? We get it, you're very intelligent and super rational and have managed to view the situation with a degree of reason that has eluded everyone else.
The Doctor Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 For six months, we've been laughing at "experts" and other fans that were asking the same question. We were more laughing at the people asking what happens when he stops scoring (which they viewed as an inevitability), and those who assumed fatigue would strike by now. Not those who asked about an injury.
Koke Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 We do need Ulloa and Okazaki to step up their game. 2 goals from Ulloa and 4 from Okazaki is really a pathetic return, though Okazaki has improved a lot lately. We could do with the midfield also adding a few goals. Albrighton hasn't scored since the opening day against Sunderland. Mahrez got 13 goals since. It's like we can't afford a run of poor form by Mahrez or Vardy. That's why people are really annoyed that we didn't get a striker in.

We are three points clear in February, and we retained all of the players that got us there. It was a good window; not spectacular, but good. We have done brilliantly with what we have, and have added three quality signings. Now is the time for redoubling our efforts as fans, not whining like a bunch of teenage girls.

Hilarious though it is to see Okazaki spend much of his game time on the deck, and curious though it is that he only seems to score comedy goals, I think we have to give him a bit of leeway and time to adapt. Remember it took Vardy quite a while to get in gear in this league.
