Fox92 Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 That's him. We were really scraping at the bottom of the barrel back then. Remember Hamill - scored on his debut if I recall correctly, away at Bury.
Koke Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Remember Hamill - scored on his debut if I recall correctly, away at Bury. Remember Hossein Kaebi? I remember him playing away at Ipswich on a cold Tuesday night, looked like a lost dog. He was part of Martin Allen and his Right Back United.
Fox in the Forest Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Thought I'd read that he'd played for us at both our highest ever position (1st in Prem) and lowest ever (6th in League One). Not sure I can think of any other players who've done that for any club? Gary Monk at Swansea? Didn't he play for them when they were in the 4th div? Andy King is the only Leicester player EVER to have played for us at the top of each of the top three divisions. Can't see that record ever being broken!!
The Blur Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Doubt it. Someone will have done it. Players like Steve Bruce that came from the lower leagues will have achieved something similar. This calls for @@Facecloth! I have forgotten that likes of Millwall and Brighton was also in L1 with us!
Jimothy Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 This calls for @@Facecloth! I have forgotten that likes of Millwall and Brighton was also in L1 with us! I don't know the answer, but I like to learn. Steve Bruce won the old second division (League One) but not what is now known as the Championship. Couple of others have won the top two divisions, but I can't see anyone has won the top three divisions in the Premier League era. Obviously going back over all of football history would be a massive job
AjcW Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Did some great away days that season though. Loved Cheltenham. Hereford when we took over the ground was pretty amazing!
AjcW Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 08/09 squad now: Marc Edworthy signed for Burton after us, played a game, was shit and retired Patrick Kisnorbo captain of Melbourne City now Kerrea Gilbert not played since 2014 for St Albans in the Conference South Aleksandar Tunchev buggered off back Russia way to play a few games, now voices the Compare The Meerkat Tom Cleverley plays for Everton but not very much, probably because he's shite Matthew Oakley still playing in League Two for Exeter at 38! Lloyd Dyer rotting in the Watford reserves Matty Fryatt plays for the trees in the Championship, hasn't played this season though Conrad Logan does the FoxesPlayer commentary sometimes, sits on a bench the rest of the time James Wesolowski still in League One, at Shrewsbury Michael Morrison in the Championship with Birmingham City Nicky Adams playing for Northampton Town in League Two Levi Porter plays as a striker for Barcelona Barry Hayles player/manager for Chesham who are basically a sunday league team Harry Worley in League Two playing for Hartlepool Ashley Chambers in League Two playing for Dagenham Max Gradel in the Prem playing for Bournemouth Joe Mattock in the Championship with Rotherham Andy King still here Jack Hobbs with the trees in the Championship David Martin playing for MK Dons in the Championship Luke O'Neill plays for Southend, still has a shit haircut Craig King playing in the National League with some team in Bradford Alex Cisak in League Two with Leyton Orient Aman Verma in the National League going from club to club Carl Pentney playing for Maidenhead in the Conference David Stockdale playing for Brighton in the Championship, doing pretty well Astrit Ajdarević playing for some Swedish team Ridiculous how far we've come Haa Martin and Stockdale just remind me of the season of a million (very good) short term loan goalkeepers lol
Jimothy Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 This calls for @@Facecloth! I have forgotten that likes of Millwall and Brighton was also in L1 with us! Roy Bailey, possibly amongst others, he was the first one I checked as goalkeeper, won the top three divisions with Ipswich between 57 and 62.
L4EV Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 4 Leeds United – 15th in The Championship Well at least there's been some progress
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 I remember some of the league one days, had one of those moments just then where I remember us playing in the division against a range of new teams for us, considering we were mainly in the top two leagues for the majority of our history. Proper glad we're back to where we're supposed to be. Cheltenham away and MK Dons away came to mind straight away in the 08/09 L1 season.
Koke Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 The things that come to mind in that season are MK Dons away when Gradel scored in the 18th minute added on time or something. Northampton away where there were Leicester fans all over the home end. Peterborough away in the terraces. Leeds at home when Howard sent a bullet header into the net in the 90th minute and we won 1-0.. I also just remember some teams bringing 250 fans with them to our place.
AKCJ Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Absolutely loved League One. It was the rebirth of LCFC as we know it.
Finnaldo Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Absolutely loved League One. It was the rebirth of LCFC as we know it. In some ways we've been ran (minus Sousa/Sven era) as a League One club ever since, a tight knit squad that's mostly been together for a fair few years with a real sense of community about the club.
LanguedocFox Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Gary Monk at Swansea? Didn't he play for them when they were in the 4th div? Andy King is the only Leicester player EVER to have played for us at the top of each of the top three divisions. Can't see that record ever being broken!! Fvckin hope not: I never want us to see Third Division football, ever again.
Guy Posted 7 February 2016 Posted 7 February 2016 I remember Hartlepool chanting to us after our 2-1 win over them at then Walkers Stadium.... "Championship, you're having a laugh!", - re our then and highly realistic promotion aspirations!
