how can we do that?  the squads are already filed with the PL. cant be changed now.

Ah.

I was for some reason thinking we could use the loan window that opens Feb 9th - I forgot we are now in the Prem.

I'm still adjusting from the Championship, apologies.

Not to worry we CAN sign any player who wasn't with a team during the transfer window.

So players who are either currently out of contract or who were not signed to a team during the transfer window are the only available options? Am I understanding this correctly?

What loan market? We can't loan anyone! This isn't the championship, the window is firmly shut for us

Oops. You're right.

You can take the Leicester fan out of the Championship, but you can't take the Championship out of the Leicester fan. :)

Think I need some prawn sandwiches

I'd be actually gutted.

Anything less than top-four now would be unbearably anti-climatic, because to have reached that position we would have had to have had such a collapse in form, that the gloss would be taken off everything we've done so far. Can you not imagine how smug the pundits would be?

But I don't believe that will happen; I honestly believe we can do this, have done since we won away at Spurs.

Whatever happens in the next two games, we'll still be right in the mix, and in our remaining games we face sides that - with the exception of Man Utd and Southampton, against which we drew - we beat in the reverse fixture.

If we can replicate those results, we will finish on 82 pts, and that's assuming we get nothing from Man City or Arsenal. If we can replicate those results, the title will be ours.

I'd be gutted if we finished outside the top 4 but whatever happens I'll always look back on this season as an amazing one.

One of my main worries at the moment is that we start losing a few games and all the positive energy gradually seeps away. I'd hate to think that after a run of average/poor performances we'd begin to lose the all for one mentality and the incredibly supportive atmosphere we have generated so far would go stale or turn sour.

We've got to stay behind the lads even if they do end up falling short. If we don't, what would that say about us? Anyone who gets on the players' backs during or after poor displays in the coming weeks may as well **** off and support Man U as far as I'm concerned.

I agree that is a possibility but I won't say that is nailed on that we will lose belief after few losses, we were bit dodgy over January but still got our belief and spirit intact.  I agree with Captain, it is all about context but I really hope Ranieri will have learnt by now that we play so much better on attack rather than sitting back against likes of Villa and Bournemouth.

If we slipped down because we took it easy or sat back against teams on our level then I would be even more gutted than if we missed out due to injuries or exceptional form from our rivals.

A dip in form of relegation levels isn't even up for discussion.  Why would this set of players do that all of a sudden?  The quality and tempo they're playing at won't just disappear.

Injuries to the 3-4 key players is the only way it could go wrong from here.  1-4th place is pretty much nailed on.

Wow, amazed the amount of people who think we can still loan players.  Why do you think deadline day is such a big deal?!

It's not such a big deal in my house mate. It's not as good as Pancake Day is it?

At beginning of August .. over the moon

From where we are today .... Distraught !

We have to finish in top 4 now

Exactly. It's like conceding in the last minute of a game you were expecting to lose. Sure, the 1 point is better than you predicted, but it feels like a bad loss.

I'd still be delighted with 4th (after a few weeks of disappointment and avoiding the Ranieri out posts) but my sights are higher now, however ridiculous that still feels to me.

Anything out of the top 4 would be a disappointment and I could just imagine the media and other fans all calling us faliures etc, which would be a joke.

I really hope we can finish in the top 3. We deserve it considering how great we have been so far and against all the odds.

My only concern is, we finish a close 2nd to someone and people will forget how amazing that is, and start to moan we didn't win it and blame the January window or Claudio's tactics or something stupid.

How  about blaming 4 points lost by  2 missed penalties

I would be gutted considering the position we are in now as this might be once in a lifetime, but I would love to have European football either way!

I'm getting a bit confused with these rules.

So we can use one of our two free spaces to register a player not with a club during the window, but we can't use any of those spaces to register Kramaric, benalouane or de laet if they have recall options? Is that right?

We all can't be as great as you "Foxy_jim"

You're super.

I'd be a bit gutted but considering where we came from just two seasons ago, I could not have a go at the manager, owners or team.

I'd rather be where we are and it go tits up than be Villa at present because they are going to be playing in the Championship next season and could easily continue to fall.

It will likely happen if Vardy gets injured.

I still say we should be getting in somebody on loan - be a shame to lose the title or a CL place because we didn't get six games worth of cover just in case.

loan window is shut the only way we can recruit now is through a free transfer and not many players out there available on a free with quality maybe robinho whos available and has played top flight

Look, it's only because I get picked up on the odd minor spelling mistake, and I mean nothing by it, because as it happens this is a popular misapprehension. The term is actually 'worst-case scenario', not 'worse-case scenario', although it may be possible by way of emphasis to have a 'worse than worst-case scenario' to make the point really strongly, but of course technically one shouldn't really do that.

Of course we all know what you mean, and I only mention it by way of advice.

To be fair, it'd take a pretty big collapse by us not to finish at least 4th.  We probably only need 5 more wins from 14 to cement that and we certainly have kind enough fixtures to do it.  Even then, thats only if someone like Man Utd or West Ham were to win 9 out of 14 to overhaul us which is a huge ask in itself.
