He's had plenty of credit, on here, in the press and by Ranieri himself. You can't bring the bloke up after every game, we wouldn't be where we are with him in charge if you ask me. I was a big fan of his, but tactically Ranieri is on a different level. We'd still be having a good season, but Ranieri seems to solve problems pretty much instantly, where as Nigel took months sometimes to address an issue.

What Pearson did was lay the foundations for a successful business, he seperated all of the key areas of the backroom into separate departments, meaning all he and his coaches had to do was worry about coaching and nothing else.

This must have been a dream for Claudio, he has nothing to worry about other than coaching the side, the pressure of finding players, working on fitness and everything else besides manage his group has been taken out of his hands. Which is why he is on course to secure his first ever PL title. Nigel has a lot to thank for.

We would be nowhere near the top of the table withpout Nigel's behind the scenes work as well as Ranieri's work on the pitch. For me the credit should be 50/50 between the two. The club is still run in the style of Nigel Pearsons philosophy, Claudio is more Head Coach than manager in all honestly.

Not having that really we are top of the table because of Claudio

You can't prove that though. No-one can say where we would be if Pearson was still here.

Claudio constantly refers to a team spirit "he's never seen before", which was instilled by Pearson.

 

I still give Pearson credit but I'm tired of hearing at it at this point, I could see why some PL clubs may be hesitant to sign him up and the Derby job as much as I hate to say it, is made for him at this point.

Your wrong, the three major improvements on last are:

 

  1. the confidence the players got on the great escape last season and carried into this season.
  2. the signing of N'Golo Kante, who's shoulders rest the platform our attacking players perform on. Do you need reminding Walsh had to persuade Claudio to sign Kante and at first he was seen by the manager as a wide player?
  3. Claudio has improved the defensive shape of the side immeasurably, his tactical organisation is much better than Pearson's was.

You could say that the work Pearson did takes two of those points and Claudio one.

Adrian Durham does know his stuff tbh, he just tries to cause debates and arguments by being stupid sometimes

This pretty much, although I think that the tactical change is the reason we're top. I feel a good season would of been on anyway (e.g. top 10) but Ranieri's pedigree and organisation has pushed us on bounds.

 

Love them both to be honest and will always remember Pearson for what he gave us, but now it's Claudio's time.

1 they should never have needed a great escape we were in that mess because of Pearson

2 we have no idea what Walsh did or didn't have to explain to Claudio , pure conjecture

3 we agree here , but also score more goals now , lots more the team is performing light years ahead of even how they were performing through "the great escape"

Nige did great things at his level , like another Nigel (Atkins) he just can't cut it at the top level in my opinion

He should always be well thought of at Leicester , always, but he is never an equal share on where we are this morning !

Isn't it true that our 'Counter attack' style has evolved almost by accident?

 

It's this style that has taken us so far and not the 3 at the back defencive formation that did work on occasions?

 

Pearson did set down our foundations.... but I can't see him getting on any bus soon....
