davieG Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 An American playing abroad is heading back to the U.S., and will join one of the NASL’s strongest sides in recent years. Minnesota United announced the signing of 26-year-old Danny Cruz on Monday. The former Philadelphia Union midfielder spent last season on loan with Norwegian club FK Bodø/Glimt, scoring two goals in 15 appearances. (REPORT) The Tampa Bay Rowdies are headed to England from March 6 to March 17 and will play a trio of friendlies against Leicester City, Nottingham Forest and Notts County. In addition, the Rowdies are set to train at St. George’s Park, home of the England national team. (REPORT) FC Edmonton signed Senegalese defender Papé Diakité on Monday. The 23-year-old centerback made 25 appearances for Belgian second division club Royal Antwerp F.C. in 2015. (REPORT) To kickstart the club’s preseason, the New York Cosmos will take on Long Island University on Feb. 13. (REPORT) The Carolina RailHawks will play Liga MX club Toluca in a friendly at 12 p.m. on March 26. How will the Rowdies fare in England?
Guest Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 We've had plenty of Rowdies down the city before.
lgfualol Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Considering we have games around that time I presume they'll play our B team or u21s.
sylofox Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Will be a game for the little used first teamers.
Swiper Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Yeah, this would almost certainly be for U21 or below, surely... Tampa Bay are NASL which is the second division over here. Really hope the 1st time schedules a friendly or two here though.
UPinCarolina Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 If Leicester scheduled a friendly in the United States I might have to drain the bank account.
AKCJ Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Will be a game for the little used first teamers. So the reserves???
NewEnglandFox Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 5/3: Watford (A) 14/5: Newcastle (H) 19/5: Palace (A)
Monsell1976 Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Will be a game for the little used first teamers.Makes sense, as no reserve league anymore, gives the likes of inler, gray and the likes 90 minutes game time, and a bit of match practice if needed.
zak_lcfc Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Wouldn't mind going to watch that, be nice to see a team from the states down here no matter what division they're from
stripeyfox Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 If Leicester scheduled a friendly in the United States I might have to drain the bank account. Yes. I have family in Colorado so a friendly in Denver would be awesome!
jonthefox Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Did anyone go to a game we had against the Tulsa roughnecks ?. Late 70's / early 80's at a guess .
americanfox Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 If Leicester scheduled a friendly in the United States I might have to drain the bank account. When we win the Premier League, they can visit the White House then play a friendly at RFK lolol.
Bayfox Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Won't start a new thread but got me thinking if we were to win the title. Would we get offers to play in these far flung tournaments and friendlies next summer. If so what would be our thoughts? Owners would love it. Massive exposure. But I know np was more interested in fitness exercises and didn't really like the whole heading to Thailand thing for the Everton game. I guess claudio would go with the owners thoughts tho.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Will be a game for the little used first teamers. Krama..oh.
