Quite a travesty a decent coach and man like him has to manage in outposts like Sligo Hope he picks up something soon enough

We had players playing for free, administration to deal with too He did a heck of a job getting us back up.

One Friday in our local this Stockport fan was raving about Gary McSheffrey who was then at Mickys club Cov. This guy was saying how brilliant McSheffrey was at Stockport and how much they loved him, even though he only played a handful of games. So what does Micky do, he takes his phone out his pocket, rings the player up and hands the phone to this guy so he can have a chat to him. Literally just phoned him up in the pub and passes the phone over so the guy could have a chat to his hero. Just a decent sort really and quite open and honest

Saw a picture of him on Sileby cons club too and apparently he's there in March. Not sure when but as Sileby cons club is seven seconds from my door I just paid my £8. (I don't know the price for non members) If I get the chance what should I ask him? That season was a bit a drunk blur and the many years that followed...well that's all I have to say about that.

It still looks like a great way to spend £8 to hear it from the man himself.Having the bulk of my season tickets during Micky's time in charge I can't speak highly enough of him, the shit he had to put up with (and at times work with) was some of the worst in recent seasons. Did a hell of a job clearing up Taylors mess and putting a side together to get promotion against all the embargo's, threats of liquidation and suchlike. Walked away at the right time too, could see that his 'Dad's Army' wasn't going to gel and had taken us as far as he could.Got a lot of respect for him, even if he did persist with a striker on the wing who couldn't run and employing a certain Alan Rogers at left back.

Great Boos Up Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 So anyone know what really happened? La Manga or leaving Leicester? La Manga: an empty hotel that was apparently for sale. The squad turn up and 3 scantily clad girls are in reception. Adams says don't be stupid boys and is woken in the night by the hotel manager and police ~ allegations of violent sexual assault. The squad is put under armed guard and interviewed individually. On returning, the hotel is packed and reporters galore so Mickey implied it was publicity set up to gain revenue. Leaving: couldn't contain himself under an inept Bassett and found himself manager of a group of reckless overpaid drunk schoolboys. His very first task was to raise a million. He sold and fined players to keep us going until an inevitable administration. Jesus, the shit the man went through trying to keep our team in competitive football and rebuild a club and stadium with integrity was above and beyond the call of duty. Admitted to all his mistakes but in the end it just took it's toll. Lots of anecdotes about his career, playing: Razor Ruddock and more and managing; Fulham, Forest,..on and on. I left like an excited schoolboy. A true gentleman and a great manger in the most oppressing of circumstances. He was our Churchill in our darkest hour and I am now more proud that I chanted the name "Micky Adams" because he kept the embers burning from those ashes and created a new flame that grew to the truly wonderful things that have now been witnessed by all Leicester City supporters.
