Riot Van Posted 27 March 2016 Posted 27 March 2016 Kane is a great striker but he lacks pace and creativity. How does he lack creativity?
ThaiFox Posted 27 March 2016 Posted 27 March 2016 As long as Hodgson is in charge, Rooney will be in the starting team until he's 40 and retired. And it still wouldn't surprise me if Vardy misses out to get Wooney in. I'm sure Woy will go for Walcott, Kane, Welbeck and Sturridge.
johnny the fox Posted 27 March 2016 Posted 27 March 2016 There is know doubt kane's time on the bench at Leicester was the making of him.. really spurs and england should be thanking us for being the decisive ingredient in his development...
Jimothy Posted 27 March 2016 Posted 27 March 2016 How does he lack creativity? He always shoots. I'm not complaining that he tries to score but sometimes to be a good creative player you need to look for the pass. Last night was a great example when he was about 25 yards out, on the corner of the box and had Vardy there to slip through, he chose to shoot. It was pointless and wasteful. He should have passed or tried to run at the defenders to get nearer goal rather than try a lame shot that went nowhere near goal. I think his shoot at all times attitude is great in the box, outside the box he needs to think a bit more about what's the best option.
Dan Posted 27 March 2016 Posted 27 March 2016 If we take the same approach we did to Brazil into France then I think given last night's showing it's even more criminal than it would have been before.

And look at how many goals he's scoring! I think Kane has developed into an excellent player, though I agree that sometimes his final pass isn't great.
ARM1968 Posted 27 March 2016 Posted 27 March 2016 Kane is very good but I'm convinced Vardy is more able.

I think Kane has developed into an excellent player, though I agree that sometimes his final pass isn't great. Well a striker shouldn't always shoot, that's my point. To be a truly good player he needs to start seeing the bigger picture at times rather than just chancing his arm every time he's within 30 yards of the goal. His final pass isn't great because he rarely passes in the final third. Its a small critique and in not saying he's shit, just needs to see the bigger picture at times and use his team mates.
WesMorganGod Posted 27 March 2016 Posted 27 March 2016 Vardy and Kane the most dangerous striking partnership in the entire euro's, no country has 2 better strikers together. but sadly Roy will not play them both together, he will play Rooney with one of them, sucks. Rooney will ruin everything. He is the captain, no way Roy won't play him if he is fit. Kane and Vardy are so different, their qualities are very different, thats what makes them the most lethal striking partnership of any country.
Father Ted Posted 27 March 2016 Posted 27 March 2016 Imagine that side that finished up but with Drinkwater in for Henderson...
Carl the Llama Posted 27 March 2016 Posted 27 March 2016 He always shoots! He's a striker! And look at how many goals he's scoring! I think Kane has developed into an excellent player, though I agree that sometimes his final pass isn't great. It's not that funny: He's got a great shot on him so a bit of selfishness near goal isn't a problem in a squad of Spurs' quality where he knows that if he does miss there'll always be another opportunity but unfortunately for him if we're doing a like-for-like comparison with Vardy his shooting is the only thing you can safely argue that he's better at than Vards. It seems counter-intuitive given each players' build but Kane's not as successful as Vardy at winning the ball in the air, on top of that he simply doesn't provide assists which is nigh on criminal for a front-man in the modern game and demonstrates a clear flaw in his game. Fortunately he's still young so no doubt he'll add the ability to pick out a final ball with coaching. He does have the higher pass accuracy of the two but we all know how much that means and in his case it's because he's making safe passes backwards or sideways so that he can move into space hoping for the return pass rather than looking to make a killer ball to a team-mate. Conclusion: Not as well rounded as Vards but he has plenty of time to work on his already stellar ability.
foxes21 Posted 27 March 2016 Posted 27 March 2016 Vardy and Kane up top together could win us the euros. I'm serious.
Wymsey Posted 27 March 2016 Posted 27 March 2016 Are they a better partnership than Poland's Lewandowski and Milik?
ealingfox Posted 27 March 2016 Posted 27 March 2016 I'd happily pick a striker with 'no creativity' if they were banging in 30+ goals a season. Assisting and scoring the same goal is quite difficult you know.

Assisting and scoring the same goal is quite difficult you know. Assisting instead of meekly shooting wide from 25 yards is pretty easy though. Imagine how deadly a 30 goal a season striker would be if he added assists to his game. Everyone can improve, there's nothing wrong with pointing out flaws in players games.

I get what you mean but I wonder how many goals Kane WOULDNT have scored if he'd decided to pass. What's the phrase? 'There's no such thing as a selfish striker'.
los dedos Posted 27 March 2016 Posted 27 March 2016 Imagine that side that finished up but with Drinkwater in for Henderson...Did anyone notice that Henderson shot near the end.As he shot vardy was in front of the defender.I'm positve Drinky would of slid it through to Vardy leaving him one on one with keeper.

Drinkwater is far more intelligent in my view, Henderson just lacks any real football brain and that was evident throughout the game... so wasteful throughout

I get what you mean but I wonder how many goals Kane WOULDNT have scored if he'd decided to pass. What's the phrase? 'There's no such thing as a selfish striker'. But I wonder how many more goals his team would have scored had he passed more. Spurs are 5 points behind us, how many draws could have been wins had Kane passed instead of trying impossible shots every time. It's just an area he needs to improve on, he can still score lots whilst assisting too, look at Messi, or Ronaldo or dare I say Mahrez.

It is why Kane and Vardy are almost a natural fit together. Messi and Ronaldo are rare gems and well the man that is closest to them both in the Prem is Mahrez of course but they aren't strikers and they aren't wingers either.. they don't cross a ball but are always looking to get inside either play that killer pass or score through their own brilliance . These type of players are special , neither Kane or Vardy are in that bracket

The Year Of The Fox Posted 27 March 2016 Posted 27 March 2016 It's imperative Vardy starts the tournament. As City fans we see him harassing defenders week in week out. The Germans were shocked when Vardy nabbed that ball off their right back when Alli missed that chance. Vardys style is just not seen at high international standard. Sides in June will absolutely hate him. What's more, Vardy will do that all day long even if he's having a shocker of a game, he still has that in his locker which will ultimately create chances for our other players. I've been banging the anti Rooney drum for a good 5 years now, but in fairness we really had few other options available. Now, for once, we actually have. A poor performance from Vardy still offers way more than a poor Rooney performance. As we all know though, Rooney will be the first name on the team sheet come June which is a massive shame as I'd be genuinely excited at the prospect of Vardy and Kane up front and wouldn't be surprised if we went quite far in the tournament
Wymsey Posted 27 March 2016 Posted 27 March 2016 Ranieri might complain that Vardy won't be at his best in August/September due to fatigue though.

Couldn't give a monkeys about August/September in fairness. I'm buzzing that virtually the whole nation are begging for our striker to start the tournament. It doesn't happen that often to us does it

Sterling, Wilshere, Rooney are the type of player that have led us in the wrong direction, we don't want these around, we want a team that is full of hunger and are match fit ..Can we for once go to a major tournament with a team that are match fit and playing in positions they know how to play in , we have waited for years for that. We don't want to accommodate certain individuals anymore, it is why the likes of scholes didn't bother anymore
