And Razgrad would be in Sofia.

Personally I'd love both of them.

Never been to Sofia !

That would be cool

Just looking at the next round It could be Dundalk v Man City/Roma/Porto or some sort of decent Side , what an achievement from a team that hail from a town with a population that wouldn't fill half of The Etihad , mind you Man City can't fill half of the Etihad lollol

No it wouldn't be. Dundalk are in the Champions section. Therefore the hardest possible opponent is Olympiakos.

The other teams are in the Runners Up section.

So Dundalk will at least play in the group stages of the Europa League?

Whats the furthest a League of Ireland side got in European competition?

Would love them to make the champions league group stages.

could they play Celtic next? Is it an open draw or seeded?

Dundalk are through to at least EL groups now.

Shamrock Rovers made the Europa League groups and played Spurs. Dundalk actually played at their stadium tonight.

Its a seeded draw to which they can only be unseeded. Celtic is a possibility.

Dundalk made the last 16 of the European Cup in 1979-80 by winning through two rounds. I think That was the furthest any League of Ireland team has progressed

I once watched cork city play gala tasary in the European cup and the Turks were lucky to win , Davy Barry played for Cork City he was my hero as a kid and after getting past cork the  next round the Turks knocked man United out

So would you say them making the group stage of the Champions League will eclipse the last 16 result?

Would love to see them make the CL.

Imagine our group

Leicester

Athletico Madrid (we always get them)

PSV

Dundalk

think is be well happy with that.

For me the 1/4 final was amazing as it was pure knock out in a time when Dundalk players all had full time jobs away from football

but to get to play European football till Christmas like they can now is amazing !

They are saying is worth 7-10m to them depending on next round result , that's staggering for a tiny club !

It's like Oadby Town in the Europa league/ champions league

Just read on Twitter, posted by bet 365, they received €110k for winning the Irish league.

So far they've made €5.4m in champions league prize money.

I didn't realise the league at home paid so much to winners , I thought it was keg of Smithwicks and a dozen packets of Majors !

genuinely it's not even conference standard

Big Sam started out his managerial career at Limerick City and that's probably the leagues biggest claim to fame until tonight lol

PSV?

I've been and I'd struggle to recommend it. Stadium atmosphere flat, there is absolutely nothing in Eindhoven of any note at all lol pretty much all there is is get drunk or go casino. Had a decent enough time there but there are far more exciting draws out there. If we do draw them I'd stay in Amsterdam if I were you and get the train over for the game.

Whoever said they wanted Dundalk and Razgrad, you'll struggle as both defo in Pot 4. They will surely get taken care of in the play off round anyway, but amazing for them that they will be playing in the Europa League this season.

EDIT: Although your name sort of suggest perhaps you wont be travelling anyway lol

i went on a weekend away to eindhoven and it was great. you're right though there is nothing there. stadium looks cool tho.

Stadium is cool yes architecturally . It is dead though honestly, more noise in a library, I heard every chant from the 200 Groniegen fans.

Might be different on a big European night I guess.

Not so much slagging the place off just saying, far more exotic or entertaining city's to potentially visit.

Rome is another one I wouldn't even attempt to go to, over commercial and bound to get filled in by Lazio fans.

lol sounds about right. Dutch are sound in general I find, and can probably write and speak better English than me.

Pot 4 by looks of it geniuenly going to be full of places I've already been to football stadiums in, Eindhoven, Rome, Lisbon, Brugge, Possability of Prague and Coppenhagan as well.
