GaelicFox Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 Hang on a second there pal! I agree with some of the shit you post but Dundee a lovely city, wtf are you smoking? I studied the Jute industry migration from Scotland to Bengal and lived in Dundee for 6 months studying the history of jute manufacturing in the city , then went to Bengal to explore and research the immigrant Scottish history of the jute barons there ! I found Dundee to be an amazing place with wonderful people and it helps Lorraine Kelly is from there
GaelicFox Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 When do tickets go on sale for this one ? When the United Nations and foreign office declare Catholic Glasgow safe to visit again Well that's what the OP would have you believe !
mozartfox Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 We will be welcome. A chance for Celtic Fans to see an opponent that is stronger than what they are usually forced to witness in the Scottish Pub League. You imagine watching us play Hinckley every week at the KP and you will know how Celtic ST holders feel.

I found Dundee to be an amazing place with wonderful people and it helps Lorraine Kelly is from there I agree the people were nice, but I was there for abouts 6-7 weeks around 2008-2009 (credit crunch) and the place was desolate and depressing. After two weeks I cancelled my hotel and travelled it from Edinburgh.
Rialto 290352 Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 The Glasgow ward was one of the few independence majority ones tbf. .....the media put out two years of very biased anti Independence crap and that scared enough of the older voters sadly. Having said that Glasgow and Dundee still voted YES.
Bazly Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 I used to work in Parkhead. Shit hole it was with run down tenements (now largely gone) and Grannies down the pub (surely long gone) doing whisky bombs in their pints of Heavy. Scary place if your the type to get scared easily but in reality, the Rangers fans are much more into a bit of nastiness than the Celtic fans. Just take along an IRA hymn book and sing along and all will be well. With the recent Scottish Cup Final troubles it does all serve as a reminder as Manchester 2008 fades in the memory that it'd be a big mistake to invite Scottish clubs to join the English leagues if the setup expands as proposed to 5 divisions (including the EPL). That'd be a recipe for violence and town remodelling on a weekly timescale.

Dan Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 Never been to Scotland in my life. Looking forward to it. Will be careful though, naive to rule out possibility of trouble.
Wymsey Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 Never been to Scotland in my life. Looking forward to it. Will be careful though, naive to rule out possibility of trouble. You'll be fine as long as you're not Northern Irish.
Dan Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 You'll be fine as long as you're not Northern Irish. Don't think I was Northern Irish last time I checked. Should be fine then.
CollinsLCFC Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 We went to Dundee Utd training ground for a charity football tournament with work, the only English side to compete. It was clear from the off we was not liked by some We did not have a team kit, so when one of us rocked up in an England shirt, a passer by told him to 'Take that f**** thing off before someone gets hurt'.. Apart from that, in the evening we went out, people we met loved us and the Leicester accent..?
Kitchandro Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 This thread reminds me of this: Ahahaaha made a terrible thread amazing
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 The game at Filbert street that was part of MON severance deal saw the first arrest at 8.00am, maybe nothing that odd. During the game the Celtic fans basically sang Irish paramilitary songs and sectarian chants favouring an organisation that murdered innocent civilians and expressed their hated for the English. All a bit sad really and nothing to do with football. Horrible experience that I will never again witness ouit of choice. Maybe the home fans behave differently?
ST20 Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 Lived there for a while and never had any trouble. Don't go looking for trouble and if they do chant about sectarianism just be the better person.
ParkerPen Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 as long as they don't play a 'bobo balde' type this time

It's a daft friendly to have really, bound to be aggro if we take a fair amount.
Foxes1 Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 I'll be there same as I will be in Stockholm. No problem.
TheLittleBigMan Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 I hate everyone. except my mum. I love my mum. oh, and fish finger sandwiches..

It's a daft friendly to have really, bound to be aggro if we take a fair amount. Oil prices are manipulated by the oil producers. Not wanting to get political but having oil at any price is better than not having any! Ask yourself why the Tories are so keen to keep Scotland in the UK? Its not because they like us! Football wise I would far rather go to Celtic park than to Ibrox. Most Scots fans are very positive towards City and I'm sure the game will be trouble free. City should win comfortably.
Guest Manini Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 So we've gone from lies, sectarianism, fenians, Scotch, the scots, independence now ****ing oil prices! I bloody hate it when the seasons finished
Ross-Kemp Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 There will be thousands that go and you're naive if you think there won't be any trouble.
