ClaphamFox Posted 13 June 2016 Posted 13 June 2016 This interview with a hooliganism 'expert' in Le Monde is quite good. He basically says that among eastern European 'ultra' groups, English fans still carry a certain mythology because of the past and are therefore regarded as the ultimate target. He was in Marseille and also points out that the behaviour of the England fans, while drunken, was actually pretty harmess until the Russian 'paramilitaries' showed up. http://www.lemonde.fr/euro-2016/article/2016/06/13/euro-2016-les-hooligans-russes-ont-mene-un-raid-comme-un-commando-paramilitaire_4949178_4524739.html
GaelicFox Posted 13 June 2016 Author Posted 13 June 2016 At least football hooligans have the decency to fight with others who are looking for the same thing (not that im condoning it) he however seems an utter ******* who is happy to target innocent people if they are muslim. Seems the Russians have changed those rules
RonnieTodger Posted 13 June 2016 Posted 13 June 2016 All of this has seemingly made everyone forget about the terror threats that they were so worried about prior to the tournament. Russia v Slovakia being in Lille a day before England play Wales 40km away is pretty concerning.
FrankieADZ Posted 13 June 2016 Posted 13 June 2016 Are there many English Police out there? i think there are a few(helping the French in some areas), and they said they'll send more if requested but they havent got the right/authority to arrest anyone in France

Especially as many will stay in Lille owing to transport and cheaper hotels etc.... i think there are a few(helping the French in some areas), and they said they'll send more if requested but they havent got the right/authority to arrest anyone in France They act as spotters I believe
Jimothy Posted 13 June 2016 Posted 13 June 2016 ... It's a real word you turnip. Well I didn't know I mean who has a phobia of the Welsh, apart from sheep Still say fair play to Wymesy for using it.
Wymsey Posted 13 June 2016 Posted 13 June 2016 Well I didn't know I mean who has a phobia of the Welsh, apart from sheep Still say fair play to Wymesy for using it. Very likely to be a rare opportunity to spot them now, but I'd be frightened of these...
Larry_LCFC Posted 13 June 2016 Posted 13 June 2016 Very likely to be a rare opportunity to spot them now, but I'd be frightened of these... And there we have it ladies and gentleman. The very reason condoms were invented. What a bunch of unintelligent cvnts.
GaelicFox Posted 13 June 2016 Author Posted 13 June 2016 Very likely to be a rare opportunity to spot them now, but I'd be frightened of these... ****** everywhere ! Wales no different , these are the same cvnts you find in any other country of the world
Finnegan Posted 13 June 2016 Posted 13 June 2016 ****** everywhere ! Wales no different , these are the same cvnts you find in any other country of the world We love a bit of casual racism in Wales. I grew up thinking "the Pakis" was just what you called a corner shop. I'm pretty sure my nan still calls it that.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 13 June 2016 Posted 13 June 2016 English fans still carry a certain mythology because of the past and are therefore regarded as the ultimate target. This is pretty much the root cause.
Finnegan Posted 13 June 2016 Posted 13 June 2016 This is pretty much the root cause. You're hardly a bunch of downy innocents though, are you? I don't doubt local youths and Russian mobs have definitely played a large part but I also know a few English lads who went over before any of this kicked off, without tickets, intending to get shitfaced, party and have a scrap. And that's me who doesn't exactly hang out in the roughest circles. Using the fact there's been a definite Russian aggravation in Marseille as a reason to pretend the English are entirely innocent and victims of their past would be just as naive and damaging as doing the opposite and blaming ALL English/Brits for the violence.

I'm pretty sure my nan still calls it that. A Pakie where I come from is a man called patrick My brother is a patrick known as Packie , once many years ago in Leicester market he was looking at some fake Lee Jeans and I was wanting to show him linekers veg and fruit stall So I roared (and I can roar) "Packie Packie come over here" The glares I got were unbelievable and one guy even said "shocking mate we all live in peace here" LOL So now when he is visiting we revert to "Pat"

StanSP Posted 13 June 2016 Posted 13 June 2016 Can't wait to get down there this weekend football and fine claret what more does the world need ! I'm a huge Claret fan and collector and I'm visiting my favorite Chateau for a private tour on Monday. I have over 1200 bottles of thier nectar in storage and one specific case the Chateau themselves tried to buy off me Let's hope for a win at the weekend over Belgium and I might crack a special bottle Fair shout Swan Which Chateau you going to? We went Bordeaux last year and visited the area of Saint Emilion.

I was referring to the violence on Friday and Saturday which was undoubtedly much worse than Wednesday/Thursday, things clearly got much, much worse with the Ruskies showed up. Oh and if you could refrain from labelling me as a hooligan becasue I'm English (which you don't know to be true), that would be great.
MrSpaM Posted 13 June 2016 Posted 13 June 2016 Found it extremely odd that UEFA are threatening us with disqualification and saying absolutely nothing about the French fans Sounds like if you are the host of the tournament you can do whatever the hell you like Thats going to be very interesting when the world cup comes round and the host nations police are letting their own ultras run riot constantly the whole tournament with no consequences. I'm hearing it reported that this sort of violence is fairly standard in Russia for their domestic league, and the police generally let fans scrap it out like this and don't get involved. Genuinely think you'd have to be insane to be heading to any of our games there in a couple of years.
GaelicFox Posted 13 June 2016 Author Posted 13 June 2016 Which Chateau you going to? We went Bordeaux last year and visited the area of Saint Emilion. Lynch Bages just outside the beautiful PauillacI have been before but I'm so excited to be invited for a private tour , you hear all sorts of amazing stories on how this family treat private tours .... I'll probably get to sniff a cork and booted out There is an historical family connection to this chateau so really their wines are more than just a passion to me
Kinowe Soorie Posted 13 June 2016 Posted 13 June 2016 The most disturbing part for me, is that they have beat beaten up by blokes wearing bum bags. The shame of it!!

apple987 Posted 13 June 2016 Posted 13 June 2016 Unbelievable. They are saying on sky sports news that Russian and English fans could clash again on Wednesday in Lille. Russia are playing in Lille and England in Lens. However Lens and Lille is half hour away. And England Fans have been told by UEFA not to stay in Lens as the Welsh fans will be there.
GaelicFox Posted 13 June 2016 Author Posted 13 June 2016 fair enough. hope you have a great time. Bordeaux and surrounding areas are a lovely place. Enjoy the wine! Thanks Stan I'll let you know how it goes

Could be like kings cross circa 1983 , a war zone
Larry_LCFC Posted 13 June 2016 Posted 13 June 2016 Any trouble between England and Wales and it's a ****ing disgrace. We are neighbours on the same little island fgs and we should standby each other. Good luck surviving outside the EU if we don't even look out for ourselves in the United Kingdom.
