Ranieri knows we need strength in depth and it appears like he's accruing a team that is flexible and gives him tactical options. And above all else, has quality running through it. Exactly what we should be doing in my opinion.

Putting us roughly on par with West Ham for net spend this window. Not bad at all. In this market, a prolific striker with CL experience, and a midfield engine who is captain of a CL team, and who recently won the Euros with Portugal, is a steal for £50m.

All that's left then is to bring in a new right back. Competition is really weak there & if Simpson gets injured we are buggered.

Amartey is a centre mid & Hernandez is a centre back.

They are not 30 or early 20s these are experienced professionals at the top of their game. This is very different to our normal transfers.
