Sorry mate

translate - Google Search

The Algerian striker Islam Slimani said Sunday , after playing against Porto his last game with Sporting Lisbon, he moved on to Leicester. The attacker , who scored in the victory (2-1 ) of the lisboetas , record by the English champion club for 30 million euros.

Slimani came to Sporting in 2013 and after the victory over the team Iker Casillas told his companions his march to take a trip to the UK and start a new stage , in this case Claudio Ranieri orders in Leicester.

Sixth signing of Leicester

Slimani comes after Musa , Mendy , Kaputska , Zieler and Luis Hernandez to reinforce the market leaders Leicester this summer.

Is dyche moonlighting for google translate now?

Hope we do get it done, our attack will be absolutely devastating once everyone is on song with plenty of options.

All the pundits are once again rimming the big 4 and saying its a one season wonder I beg to differ, time will tell.

What people forget with Leo is that he was used in later stages of games to shore the defence up. How often was he deep, defending corners, free kicks etc?

Slimani may may add a more clinical approach at the sharp end. I feel we may be sacrificing a tactical shift in securing him however.

On a positive note, this transfer has been muted for around three seasons and it sounds like we might finally have secured the signature.

Honestly think this will be the best signing of the summer.

With mahrez now demanding the attention of 3 players each time he gets the ball, one switch of play to Albrighton, one cross, one slimani header and it's a goal. Easy peasy.

A ****ing gladiator that's who he is. Always gave 100% in every match. I will forever remember the cup final where we were losing 2-0 and one man down at 20 minutes and the entire team was apathetic and powerless, almost just waiting for the final whistle to call it a day, and super Sli battling 4 or 5 men alone, never stopped running and pressuring, battling for every ****ing ball that was in a 30m radius. He ended up scoring, we leveled 2-2 with one man less, went to penalties and won it. I saw Acosta end our championship drought, Jardel breaking the goal record, Liedson humiliating rival defenses but I will be dammed if Slimani was not best striker I saw with a Sporting jersey.

How can you not be excited by this signing?! :scarf::scarf:

I can't wait for all the Algerian fans to flood the LCFC Facebook fan pages with comments...

There'll be a match report for the u21's followed by pages of replies saying "Mahrez is the best" and "I <3 Slimani"

 lol

Its a bit surreal when the Champions League facebook page has an update on Slimani scoring from Sporting v Porto and I lot of the posts are from 14 year olds from Algeria saying 'Welcome to Lester with Merhaz #ALG'...

Looks like he'll give us a very nice other source of goals into the starting 11. We'll still score the counter attacking goals like Vardy at the weekend, and hopefully with his work rate he'll contribute to the pressing. But against teams that sit back we've now got the hit the touch line and cross it in option.

Can't see Vardy or Mahrez getting as many as last season so we were lacking another regular goal threat.

Vardy cannot play every PL and CL  game. Some of you are forgetting this.

And that's why we signed Musa, so we can replace pace with pace.

So we're probably looking at one of...

Vardy / Okazaki

Vardy / Slimani

Musa / Okazaki

Musa / Slimani

.... as I imagine Slimani will play the deeper Okazaki role.

Though now I think about it, a 4-2-3-1 could work quite nicely.

            Slimani

Musa - Okazaki - Vardy

   Drinkwater, Amartey

We should have beaten yanited at home.  That was two points he cost us with a poor finish.

he won us two against norwich

he took the pen against the hammers but someone else could have.

Scored couple against Swansea - could have won in any case. They were terrible.

if Claudio thought Leo was the answer, he wouldn't have been trying to get in another striker in January.

his game and touch improved  second half last season but he really isn't top six quality.  I know we won the league but as a first change sub, he wasn't an absolutely integral part.

im not dissing  his contribution but I really want us to move on with a better alternative. like I said, slimani may or may not be that man.

Hang on people. We all love Leo. If we are comfortable being a mid table prem side then Leo is fine. If we want to be challenging for top four then he isn't.

slimani may or may not be a better option. Looks like we will get the chance to see.

Did you miss last season?

His point being I presume that we weren't mid table last year with him as third choice

Have you seen vardy play wide for us and England? He's toss and it would revert him back to the season before last, with few goals.

I think he can do a job there (I don't count England - everyone is toss for England). On the other hand, I just realised I'd forgotten Mahrez....

In which case, Vardy would go up front, and would be a toss-up for Slimani and Okazaki in behind.

A sign of the times when Rihad can't get a start
