No. If the rumours are true, im sure it would've been on his mind. But never having paid much attention to his performance before, it's all I have to go on. And based on that, I'd rather have Ulloa. Have you deliberately watched him before? Or do you feel the possibility that he is going to be faster, more composed, have better movement, more commitment and a better first touch warrants the outlay of £30m ? Based on tonight's performance, I'm not sure. Hopefully, out scouting network has done more research than I have as an armchair punter.

I wasn't too fussed about that as I was watching his off the ball runs and there where multiple times when he could have been played in or got into a good position to receive a header yet he had little service. Still managed to get into the position to score when he could have left it thinking it was going in anyway yet chose to follow it up and he got his reward.

When last season ended I liked to think that we would show our class as fans no matter what happened. Koke Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 Islam is quicker and more mobile than Ulloa - plus he's got the aerial abilities of Ulloa as it is. This guy is an upgrade on Ulloa. As I said earlier, If foreign fans watched Mahrez for the first time against Swansea they'd be utterly unimpressed with him. We shouldn't judge players on a single game. His goal scoring record is fantastic. He's played and performed in the World Cup. He's better than Ulloa.

He turned up when we needed him against West Ham and Swansea in the title run. I have a lot of respect for him. But we can't stand still in the transfer market.
Donut Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 Slimani is a quality player, thats not the issue for me. In my opinion, the money could be spent a lot better improving other areas of the team. If we can bring a quality holding midfield player into the squad, i think we will be looking strong. I simply dont see the merit in Slimani at £30 mil say, when this means we will have to reshuffle the team and in doing so probably leave out one of our most underrated players in Okazaki. If he is a "plan b" player then its a lot of cash for someone used sparingly. Think our whole approach to signings this summer has been pretty scattergun to be honest
