Finnegan Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 As a distraction from all the Woy talk and the realisation that the home nations are all shit, let's all agree that this tournament probably has the best collection of stadia ever. The new look Stade Velodrome has got to be up there as the best. But Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon and Nice are all spectacular, not to mention the classic St Etienne. ****ing brilliant. What's everyone's favourite?
The Year Of The Fox Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 This needs a picture of each and a poll mate!
The Year Of The Fox Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 The Stade Velodrome does look impressive. I'm also looking forward to going to the lens one where it's more of a British style. It's just a shame that it only holds 35k ish when England and Wales fans could probably fill that twice over. Are you going to the England game?
Finnegan Posted 7 June 2016 Author Posted 7 June 2016 This needs a picture of each and a poll mate! I was going to put more pictures but I'm on my phone so **** that.
StanSP Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 i love you @@Finnegan. i get excited seeing any kind of stadium let alone these French ones Stade de France: Stade Velodrome (Marseille) Stade de Lyon: Stade Pierre Mauroy (Lille) (also has a roof) Parc Des Princes (Paris)
StanSP Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Stade de Bordeaux (brand new for Euro 2016) Stade Geoffrey-Guichard (St Etienne) Allianz Riviera, Stade de Nice (Nice) Stade Bollaert-Delelis (RC Lens) Stadium de Toulouse (has an old Wembley feel to it?)
Finnegan Posted 7 June 2016 Author Posted 7 June 2016 Apparently they actually call the Stade Toulouse "little Wembley." Bordeaux is absolute filth.
StanSP Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 ha didn't even know that. yeah we saw the new Bordeaux stadium just after it finished last summer. looks magnificent in the flesh. very unique compared to the rounded, curved designs these days.
AKCJ Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 The designs for Chelsea's ground at Battersea were unreal.
brockmyster Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 That Bordeaux one is absolute filth The designs for Chelsea's ground at Battersea were unreal. Can't disagree there, used the towers so well I thought:
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 There are some real excellent stadiums in France. In regards to Chelsea's new ground, some of the design images look superb too.
AKCJ Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 If we fail to get through to the group stages then i'd love to go away to Braga.
Stadt Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Stade Oceane where Riyad used to play is an absolute beauty
VLC86 Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Went to St Etiene and Lyon in France 98, both nice grounds and really looking forward to going to Marseille on Saturday.

Went to the old one last February. It was one of the coldest games I've ever been to!Drove past the new stadium and it looks very impressive. Quite a bit out the centre though. I'll hopefully be watching France in their first knockout there.

MC Prussian Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 There's a couple of really nice stadiums in Portugal, such as the Estadio do Bessa (Boavista's ground): Looks cool with the checkered interior, but I get the feeling it's a sardine box - a bit like Loftus Road.
SystonFox Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Bordeaux looks amazing like a little box of chocolates
Darkon84 Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 You still can't beat Parc des Princes. The way the sound reverberates around the stadium because of the concrete build is amazing.
whoareyaaa Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Thought this was going to a topic about the hot women the cameramen always find
GaelicFox Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Thought this was going to a topic about the hot women the cameramen always find The thought of lads all over leics knocking one out looking at 40,000 seats and 4 walls is quite disturbing And I'm not easily disturbed
