GaelicFox Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 Reading I think. Yea just checked was on loan at cov in 2012
Nalis Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 Hard luck @@Nalis Thanks. Can't really complain. Washington (2nd striker) wasn't brought on quickly enough in my view. Least we went forward a bit then. Only option for the Ukraine match is starting with a similar team that finished. Against Germany I'd be happy shit housing a first half performance like that for 90 mins but to be honest we're onto hiding v Germany no matter what way we play.
Nalis Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 BBC pundits were harsh but fair. Can't really complain seeing how small our wee country is...

I think you're solid enough, organised enough to keep the score down and make it hard for anyone you play. People slating Lewandowski are being very harsh on your defensive performance, it's very difficult to play against a team that get everyone back and everyone knows their roles. You're a lot like us in that regard, the difference is you have no Bale. You've got to get by by working your set pieces and they were bollocks today. You're robust enough to frustrate Germany. Who knows?

Chester Dontlie Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 3 points, that calls for national holiday already I thought NI were defending very well most of the game (lack of end product on our side helped). Lewandowski was double or triple marked most of the (which left more space for Milik) time so well done. Also their set pieces caused a bit of panic among our defense. Pazdan the weakest link there imo. Wasyl would be useful against Ukraine which will be prob nasty Milik should at least get a brace if not a hattrick but I'm so happy he scored. Should do better next time I guess. Błaszczykowski and young Kapustka were great. We're used to have 0 or 1 point after first match on a tournament so can't complain really

Who knows? Yeah that's been the approach in qualifying but with purpose countering and attacking the other end (albeit against weaker opposition). We showed none of that today unfortunately. 3-5-2 / 5-3-2 is the main formation we play but today is was 5-4-0-1 and when the nearest midfielder to Lafferty is playing so deep then it may as well be 5-4-0. Fear factor probably came into a bit I reckon and the fear of being beat at by a heavy scoreline. Not saying we'll get anything from Ukraine or Germany, just like to think we'll at least played as well as we did in qualifiers (and with the same system) v Ukraine on Thursday. We're not going to be back for a long time so might as well give it a go now. But yeah, who knows? In the meantime, I'll just enjoy the rest of the Euros, support Wales and southern Ireland, and worry about us on Thursday.

StanSP Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 Kram on can't see Turkey scoring to be honest. think it'll end up 1-0.
Chester Dontlie Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 It will be kicking on narborough road tonight Polish folks live there ? Yeah I can imagine, we tend to get a bit noisy & annoying especially after we drink or win something (the former happens much more often than latter obviously). It already feels like a national holiday here in Warsaw, lots of flags and banners people in Poland t-shirts everywhere and when Milik scored you could hear the collective scream of a nation. This is our biggest chance in years (since 80s) to get out of the group, we finally have some proper quality in the team, the coach is great (we had a couple of Woyosauruses before so I know the feeling) and the new rules give us an extra padding. I'm just slightly worried that if Germans will spank us (as they used to do in the past) the national team spirit may bottle Nevertheless I'm quite optimisting about Poland vs Ukraine (no Schevchenko, Rebrov etc). That will be a proper battle. We'll see, as the classic says, "one game at a time" @@Nalis don't worry. There's always Leicester and this season to fall back from our national team disappointments And who knows, maybe you guys could pull a Leicester against Ukraine and Germany? Way too soon to cross you out imo
Fox92 Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 Germany national anthem is superb. Excited to see the World Champions.
