purpleronnie Posted 4 May 2017 Posted 4 May 2017 I noticed South Shields have won promotion to the NPL Division One North, they also won the Durham cup, have reached the final of the league cup and will be going to Wembley for the final of the F.A Vase. And they won 32 games on the trot too.

Apparently they nearly went out in the 4th round but a floodlight failure 9 minutes from time at 4-2 down saved them. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39327283

isaidno Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 Forest green vs Tranmere in national league play off final. Chorley vs Halifax in north, and Ebbsfleet vs Chelmsford in south.

Tranmere hopefully coming back up. Didn't Forest Green lose in the final last year? I know Grimsby won the final.

Tuna Posted 14 May 2017 Posted 14 May 2017 Tranmere have blown it losing 3-1 to Forest Green in the playoff final.
Fox92 Posted 14 May 2017 Posted 14 May 2017 Forest Green have been on the edge for a few seasons though. This will be their first season in the football league won't it? Smallest town in the league I believe.
purpleronnie Posted 14 May 2017 Posted 14 May 2017 Good grief the vegans in the football league, doesn't get more bland than that.
Corky Posted 14 May 2017 Posted 14 May 2017 Forest Green v Coventry will actually be a league match if this stays the same.
Ross-Kemp Posted 14 May 2017 Posted 14 May 2017 Always had a soft spot for FGR. They were fantastic on FM years ago. Could take their squad from conference to the championship back to back with ease.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 14 May 2017 Posted 14 May 2017 Congratulations to Forest Green. Lovely little club, be interesting what they look to do from here... given they are possibly limited on how far they can go in terms of the area itself.

Tuna Posted 14 May 2017 Posted 14 May 2017 Congratulations to Forest Green Rovers getting promoted to the Football League for the first time in their history.
isaidno Posted 14 May 2017 Posted 14 May 2017 Didn't want them to win. Getting 5 million pounds in debt to reach the football league is ridiculous.

isaidno Posted 14 May 2017 Posted 14 May 2017 Just been reading that the debt is close to 10 million, and they've spent 200k on agents this season.
