Much like the Germans did with the Slovaks, immediately after our inability to score against them. I'm pleased Iceland scored (I had btts) but 5-2 is a bit of a mullering at international level, and I guess France probably took the gas off a little when they knew they'd won. Once again, Hodgson hang your head in shame. France would have beaten us anyway, but losing to Iceland in the way we did is inexcusable, unforgivable and terrible. I agree with the poster above who said that it's not only Woy who's at fault. It's all the massively overly bigged up players we have AND the rotten FA. Something must change,.

Iceland have had a wonderful tournament and put everything into the England game. They simply ran out of gas, but still did themselves a big credit in the 2nd half with their performance.

Great tournament for them, Holland Austria Turkey Portugal and England aren't bad set of teams to have gotten one over on given how terrible some are making them out to be.

To be honest, even going in to the tournament I didn't quite understand why they were being made out to be no hopers in their group. I'm not going to pretend I predicted they'd make the quarters but I definitely never thought they were any worse than your Slovakias or Czech Republics or whoever. We played them in a friendly not that long ago and they were very tidy. Then they looked very good in qualifying. The size of the country makes for a good story but when it comes down to the football you've got to just look at the quality of the 20 odd in the squad and Iceland are probably better on paper than at least a third of the other teams, if not half.
Guest Posted 4 July 2016 Posted 4 July 2016 France haven't played anyone yet. Most teams have been very average in the tournament. Maybe Germany are above average and now we can see how good or bad France are. They seem to have a weak defense in the air.

Have Portugal scored against anyone other than Hungary in 90 minutes? Ronaldo can expect to have Ledley and Allen follow him round kicking him for 90 minutes solid. He won't have fun.
