Dont you find the continual talk of so called big clubs stealing our players a bit tiring- maybe we should turn things around and start to tap up a few of their players....a few rumours here and there could work wonders -

Yes we should re-introduce the 8 million bids for every player, it's been sadly lacking this transfer window.

Yes agree. Would like to see us put a £50m bid in for Alexis Sanchez.

I agree with this. I would like us to bid, somewhere close, to someone's asking price, for THEIR star player. I would like us to spend every penny of the £30m+ we got in for Kanté on a player we need for our campaign. For me, this should be a no.10 / attacking midfielder.

Seriously though, what about; Sigurdsson, Lamela, (not Deeney ffs!), Mata, Barkley, Bojan? I'm not saying they are all worth £30m btw, but you get my point. We're Champs league. We aren't going to be for long, and I just feel we're not taking advantage of this situation enough.

B*llox to that lets really go for it ...   Pogba and Messi ! ....    and if they don't want to come Ronaldo and Bale as back up.

...    And put a story out that spud face Rooney wasn't even considered.

Part of me agrees. However. Unfortunately due to Twitter etc. Can you imagine the panning the club would get if we tried to get sanchez, martial, hazard, etc and got exactly nowhere. Umm.

Maybe a cheeky bid for Hazard

When he scored that goal I joked we should try and sign him.

We should have paid him the same bonus our players got for winning the title lol

We wouldn't make a big bid for any of the big clubs players because it's unreasonable to stump up a fee that won't even improve our squad, let alone the 11.

We're still smarter than the necessities of Manchester United and Manchester City where they have to spend 30 and 40 million on players like John Stones; we can take Mendy for £13m and Hernandez / Zieler on frees and we've already improved our squad, saved money and had better windows than most clubs spending a fortune on needless players only signed to satisfy fans, new managers, and boardroom members.

I thought this a few weeks ago. Stick a bid in for Ozil or Sanchez, make the point that for next season at least we're on a par with them.

Agree with Redsox- i wouldnt actually want to change the way we do our business- it won us the league- i do think we need to change peoples mindset towards us-

Sometimes it is media perception and why should truth spoil a good rumour. Everton are seriously wealthy because they have a billionaire owner, they have brought in a new manager and scout and 3 players from Oldham,Cov and Fulham i believe but they are big players because the media say so. Their star defender and forward are being linked elsewhere yet they are massive, the media also tend to ignore how they played last season and they should have been beaten by 5 or 6 at our place when we were in party mode, they also got beat 3-0 by Sunderland which must have as pathetic performance as any put in last season they are far closure to Villa and Newcastle last season but remain massive.

Yet Leicester despite wining the league spending over £30 million on new players beating our transfer record twice in a week and also having equally rich owners as Everton's who more importantly have shown patience and commitment and investment into the club remain small because the press say so. Bad news sells papers so little old Leicester having their fairytale dream shattered helps selling papers and advertising spaces.

They don't have any players good enough.

You mean a bit like offering £30 million for Deeney?

There's plenty of time left yet but at the moment the talk is more of players leaving rather than us seeming to show more ambition. How often have a side like Watford been able to keep their star player when the champions come calling? If that had been us he would have been sold for some modest fee.

This big club notion really only seems to have taken hold since the nineties before then the term was unfashionable clubs. Like Forest and Derby with their success.

So what defines a big club now is it. Wealth of Owners, size of Stadium, Trophies won,

Fan Base, Wages or Transfer spending as I'm not sure.

As for Leicester our Owners are billionaires and were paying more in wages than Totenham and certainly Everton, Granted we don't have the Stadium or fan base. So what does that really make us apart from being on the up.  And yes we had the best team in the league last year.
