What's wrong with some of our fans !

trouble is, our recent success has attracted a new breed of middle class fan, who doesn't understand that there is a percentage of football fans especially of inner city teams from working class areas like Leicester that are male, rough and drunk.

A lot of this new support have probably not been to many away games or drank in pubs or in parts of the ground where they have to mix with the more old school fans and we're probably quite shocked with all the groups of lads full of testosterone and larger.

At the same time the more rougher elements of our support probably sit in places like L1 or K1 and drink in places like f bar and go to away games and stand all game and probably didn't realise that they are no longer representative of our fan base at large.

So Wembley with everyone mixed in together was always going to be a bit eye opening for both sides.

Leaving the ground I saw a group of 4 man u fans arguing about rugby union with a couple of blokes in matching city tops the man u fans were Gloucester fans and the Leicester fans were singing 'leicester tigers we are bigger than you' at them. It doesn't take a genius to realise football fans are changing.

Nah not having that. We've always had fans from the Countys richer area's always had fans from the rough areas, there is always a demographic split with football fans. Home and Away. If anything I think the poorer ones are struggling to keep up with the increasing cost of match days.

Always been rough blokes from The Monsell, New Parks, Braunstone etc going when I've been going. Difference is about 20 years ago you felt like they were looking after you and just part and parcel of it not robbing off you or anything to "look out" for so to speak, there was always a we're all in it together feeling. It wouldn't even surprise a lot of people doing thieving aren't particularly hard up and aren't even from those areas, more the fact they are just out and out devious. Being tight and money hungry is not nesc anything to do with how much money you have.

Did not see or witness any trouble yesterday, had some nice chit chat with a contingent of Man U fans in a pub not far from Bakers Street underground and the peeps around us at the ground were pleasant up in block 502 row 2.

Was a bit tight on the tube after the game but nothing untoward there either though on the 20:29 train back to Leicester apparently some guys were having fun:unsure: throwing beer cans at each other in the next carriage.

I had a really good day, mingling with the united fans in the pub etc it was a good atmosphere... however it was tarnished by some pathetic young men on the tube to Wembley Park. The atmosphere on the tube was great until they piled on and starting smashing the roof, singing about being the new "baby squad" then singing disgusting Munich chants- is this what it has come to? singing despicable songs about people dying. My other half tried to intervene as he was as disappointed and they thought it was hilarious and were quite aggressive. Silly little boys ruining the reputation of our club with their behaviour, who were clearly only going to be complete nobheads!

Leicester is a shit hole. It's a poor City, horrendous town centre and a large amount of poor housing estates.

With that, you are going to get a high percentage of people who haven't got much of a brain and it's quite evident when you go to the football in Leicester or away games.

I find it fascinating at away games that a certain percentage haven't even got enough brain to actually cope with reading their ticket and finding their allocated seat number and sitting in it.

Its like people have been let out for the day and although sometimes amusing watching the animals drooling from the side of their mouths, you sometimes have to be on your guard.

Went to Cov years back when someone was sitting in our seats, he started bouncing up and down wanting a fight when I stood there too and kindly asked him to move. He and his family didn't have the ability to find their own seats and you needed a bath when you got home from standing so close to them until they moved on.

It really is like a day out with the lower class, but as Leicester is a shit hole you can understand why.

I went to a Brighton game last season, away at Rotherham and you could really tell the difference between their fans and ours. Whereas we have lots of overweight, mouthy, smelly supporters who can't string a sentence together, they looked cleaner, better dressed, less obese and you could tell they came from a better area.

So I am not atall shocked that you saw grown men steal others t-shirts. I am not shocked either that Leicester fans pick fights with Leicester fans. I am not shocked with racist comments.  When you go to a Leicester away game it is really a case of taking your chances with the uneducated.

Not being harsh, you see it all the time, and if you can't you are probably one of them.

Well said Tarquin.

Lots of towns have their bad areas but Leicester was where i was born and i am proud to be from there.

Although i have not lived there for 8 years i miss it and always enjoy my visits.

I fully believe that I am one of the most sophisticated people in Leicester.... or technically Leicestershire. Some of the abominations that call themselves human beings living within our county make my skin crawl. No doubt they would all want to beat me up for saying such a thing.

This could be a very annoying year concerning whinging fans. Lots of new fans and expectations too high in general.

Had clowns on the train back to Leicester from St Pancras using foul and abusive language, was with my 7 year old and had to tell them time and time again to stop using it. The level of intelligence and respect for others in some of our fan base is absolutely frightening.

lol

i can can sort of see your point , but it's maybe a little stretched

I have been a STH since 1994/5 and I wasn't whinging , just pointing out some of the behaviour needs to be toned down ! I don't give a FECK what social class you come from being a racist aggressive knob head isn't on !

I just couldn't resist adding to the rant a little.

Its got **** all to do with class or where in the city / county your from its about not being a cvnt to your own. Your always going to get your lads who have watched football factory once thinking they've got to give it large to be 'respected' - who they're trying to get respect from i'm not totally sure as they normally get mouthy in a nice large group of their own fans and shit theIr pants at the first sign of trouble, sadly they seem deluded by the glamorisation of 80's casual violence. Bit of a news flash for some of you on here, its possible to be working class and a good person as much as its also possible to middle class / uppers class and a complete and utter tosser.

I have been a fan since the 60s.I will v also mention my peak years were the 70s has a teen supporter .

Those years were also the peak yrs of the hooligans, and  unruly fans and police Themselves.

I COME from New Parks, and I suppose belonged  to what many might class as hard and unruly.

Yes I was involved in ,put kindly some rumbles...In western park, against Braunstone.

On some away days, following the city, our story from clique, we enjoyed the singing and fan groups,

but hand on heart, we tried hard not to get involved, we went for the football not the aggro.

We even suppirted the police on occasions when youngsters or older fans, were in danger.

Good guys we werent, but we also didnt run with the split neanderthals neither.

What I did see, was so called Working class yobs mixing with middle class office boys hooligans, including

Papa boys from the so called toffs getting involved in the real violence.I do n t know now but in those days,

One got to know other youths across the classes, especially when you did sports on the higher levels.

Hooliganism never did, then or now belong in the hands of any particular "class" or "type"

There were through these last 50yrs even without social media, or the first mobile phones, well organised

Football Asbos, Saturday night club hooligans. With thecwell behaved football and Rugby club Coach tours,

there were also, the just boisterous, through to the downright vandals, and those who thought it was amusing

just to upset others who they came across in pubs or restaurants.

The neanderthal and Obnoxious, groups were and still now are to be found across the

Whole spectrum of the British classes...I have travelled and lived across the UK and the world,

I have seen the toffs, the farmers boys, the salt of the earth, military squaddies and officers,

Rigmen n lasses, doctor fatern i ties Various City working Class estate saints n angels cliques,

have violent or just powder puff rumbles.

I have seen the Innocent hardmen, and obnoxious only violent Hardmen, do stupid things 1 minute.

then protect the innocent the next.

Not one group mentioned above own the Soul copyright, or Earnt the stars for being  Rated to any majority-group.

I started out as a wuzz, hardened up, then through my adult life......others can comment.

Just dont dare to blame certain groups or classes having the soul ownership of Hoolis, ASBOS, or group violence.!!

I lurk on here from time to time, just to catch up on City news,

I would post/give my opinion if it wasn't half full of stuck up overly sensitive and self righteous knobheads.

You lot who try to take the high moral ground are no different than the Jeremy Kyle show.

If your not aware of the fans going around taking the free bag which included commemorative t-shirts, then yes. People were robbing several others from others seats for themselves.

Same thing happened with the Pizza hut vouchers at home last season

It's shameful.

Oh right if anyone wanted to nick my t shirt yesterday they would have been more than welcome to it, it's proper cheap tat, would have been a bit more angry if they had nicked my pizza voucher at everton though lol out of 27,000 or 32,000 people there will always be a few scum bags weather its yesterday or 20 years ago I think that's a different issue to aggressive atmosphere and people standing offending other fans.

Disagree with the first bit, it wasn't about people being working class, drunk males that are a bit rough around the edges upsetting the sensitive middle class types trying to enjoy their quinoa and goji berry salad from Waitrose. It was just people being dicks.

I agree with your second point, away games are different to home games, and I hadn't really thought about it being 27,000 people going to an away game. I think it was more likely the ones that don't go to aways that often that got pissed up and acting lairy because it was their big day out watching the city. First time at Wembley for many and I think it went to their heads.

You'll always have working, middle and upper class fans at the football. That's why it's the greatest sport in the world- it captures the imagination of people from every sort of background, whether that be financial, geographical or religious.

You just have to accept it. No point thinking less of the prawn sandwich brigade enjoying the game from the comfort of the posh seats. No point looking down your nose at the group of working class lads celebrating a goal by going mental and ending up on the deck. It's everyone's game, embrace it.
