You don't see anyone moaning?

Well I'm afraid to say you must have your head stuck up an Ostrich's arse

Last season the team, managed by Ranieri brought us to a level no one expected. It's now a new season with new challenges with lots to discuss and our team divides so much opinion which is one of the great things about LCFC. We're all Leicester City managers in our own right and have a right to an opinion, sometimes right, sometimes wrong. I don't believe a single person on here thinks Ranieri isn't a brilliant manager, there are valid questions whether our transfer policy so far has made our team a better one though. I don't see Ranieri criticism, I do however see a few criticising others posts which is out of order imo. If you don't agree, fine. Give your reasons and leave it at that.

I did....... I said you must have your head stuck up an Ostrich's Arse if you can't see fickle fans moaning just because we have lost one game.

We've had a crap pre-season, we've lost to Hull and have Arsenal next. It's not the losses since lifting the trophy, it's the manner with which we lost those games that's raised questions. I would have played the same players as Ranieri did yesterday however there are 3 players yesterday I would have liked to seen on the bench with proven experienced players transferred in therefore replacing them. Simpson, Gray and King.

Simpson was one of our better players yesterday. I am very interested to hear who you would have played at RB with more experience than him. Very interested!

With teams packing midfield and defending deep we need players who dribble around players and run at them rather than running into space, because there is going to be very little space. I think that's why he played Gray and Mahrez. It didn't work this time, doesn't mean it's a bad idea.

I'm not a scout and know little about the best RB players out there and although last season I was a big fan of Simpson, he has his limitations, a more attacking player to compete for that place in the first 11 or offer a different option would be welcome

So you wanted a better RB than Simpson but don't know who it is. You couldn't had the best RB in the world and it wouldn't have changed yesterday. Just about every player was sub-par, individually as well as a cohesive team as a whole.

But it's the first game of the season and sometimes $hit happens. I'm sure we'll see a completely different City next week. However, highlighting Simpson for special treatment is daft given the way all of them played.

Everyone was 7/10 at least every game last season...it's unrealistic to expect that to continue, so he'll have to change things around as and when. No excuse though for not strenthening enough to have the quality available to come in.

oh please, I think you're being a little disingenuous here, you know there are better RB's than Simpson which we could go for that would give us a different more attacking option and keep Simpson on his toes. I wasn't saying Simpson a bad player, he's certainly right to play in certain circumstances, to play alongside Mahrez who doesn't track back but I want us to have more options, to be able to change the shape of the team, to improve on last season.

Trippier

Coleman

Clyne

I didn't highlight Simpson, I pointed out 3 positions I think we could improve on

Never once said there weren't better RB's than Simpson.

and actually yes you did point out Simpson. Stop backtracking.

Some of these threads are just mind blowing. I must have missed half a season because I was under the impression we had only played one bloody game! Christ.

Can we just have 1 thread for all the Claudio attacking after each game that we lose this season. This is as sad a thread as Grewks CR complaining thread.

We could all walk around covering our eyes with our hands with our eyes, living off last seasons glory for eternity, but some, quite rightly, want to question certain aspects surrounding our club. I haven't spoke to a single City fan who was happy with the fact that we fielded a weaker first XI than much of last season, we dropped Okazaki who is imperative to the way we play and the way King performed. The guy who began this thread after 1 league is a 'moaner', but if he made this point after 38 league games he'd be 'jumping on the bandwagon'. The majority on ths board believed we made too many changes, and the OP has simply said that aswell. For once, try disproving what you disagree with rather than just insult the guy or say he's wrong.

I didn't say he should complain and attack CR I siad he could put it in your thread that was designed for that same reason.

Our problem is, and I'm a bit bored of hearing it already, but we need to find a way to play without Kante, now I guess CR thinks that the answer is Mendy, time will tell, and although I get the fact his wife gave birth, it isn't the most committed start to a new job.

I wonder if in the short term we may need to move away from the 442, although it was hugely successful last season, maybe we need to protect our back 4 a bit more without someone who is able to cover as much ground as Kante, who mopped up in the middle and covered simpson a lot last season, with Mahrez and Gray both not exactly helping out our full backs, maybe a move to 433 with Mendy and Amartey offering a bit of steel in the middle playing either side of drinky, they can then also offer the full backs a bit of support, this may also allow drinky to play a little further forward, as until okazaki came on there was a huge gap between our midfield 2 and front 4 at times.

Whatever CR does decide, I think Saturday confirmed that Drinky and King together should always be a last resort, not a 1st choice.

I said this to my family and they slated me for it. Personally, I know a number of people who have missed the birth of their kids because of work, and they aren't paid 10s of thousands of pounds a week. I understand why he wasn't there, but I struggle with the fact that he is paid so much and missed his first PL game on the job.

In my job, I couldn't imagine missing a deadline, especially the first one. There would be question marks about my commitment and ability to produce.

It's certainly a polarising opinion to have, and is probably considered harsh, but there are other players who'd sacrifice a lot more to earn what he is getting.

Given The choice I can't believe someone would willingly want to miss such a live changing event like the birth of their child especially if it is a first born for a job regardless of what that job is or how much they are being paid to do that job

Of course not. But in business, often you are not given that choice. Shareholders don't care about your personal life, just about profits and share price. Football is a business and if I were the owner, I'd be questioning his commitment.

He was given the choice.

And let's face it we should have beaten Hull without him in the team.

Also depends if the pregnacy was high risk. When there's a chance Mother or baby could die you have a bit more of a reason to be there no matter what owners or shareholders think.

When I said given the choice, I meant circumstances beyond your control that stopped you going I.e unexpectedly going in labour early and you being in a different country or even a different part of the country

i wonder what the partners think of their boyfriends/husbands commitment to their relationship if they miss the birth of their child for work

Completely agree.  Furthermore if anyone knows our Italian managers culture, he would know it is a total taboo to miss your child's birth for any reason.  Anyway, would Mendy's head be in the game during that period?

Yes, the Tinkerman has returned. No this is not a bad thing - it is inevitable and in fact a most necessary thing. Enforced changes so we have to 'tinker' or to put it another way continue to thoroughly test Plan B and C. We created enough chances to win the game despite playing poorly. Close thread...
