ben_lcfc Posted 20 August 2016 Posted 20 August 2016 Because of our lack in depth in midfield and potential injury to Mendy, I believe it's finally time to give Inler a squad number and a chance... He's not been given a fair opportunity and I think he could be a real asset especially with our upcoming Champions League games... Surely it's also insulting that Andy King is ahead of him in the pecking order!

StanSP Posted 20 August 2016 Posted 20 August 2016 not a chance Mendy King Drinkwater Amartey We've bought in 2 central midfielders. If Inler was gonna get a chance, we would not have done that.
lgfualol Posted 20 August 2016 Posted 20 August 2016 Time to sell and bring in a new CDM and a switcheroo to 3 in the middle.
Vindaloo FOX Posted 20 August 2016 Posted 20 August 2016 Mendy could be fine we don't know but if he is not then King or Amartey need to step in . i really hope we bid for Leandro Paredes .
AyewJoking Posted 20 August 2016 Posted 20 August 2016 so our replacement for kante is replaced by someone who cant get in ahead of king or amartey?
Hitesh Posted 20 August 2016 Posted 20 August 2016 Not gonna happen! We may go and find a midfielder if Mendy is injured for a while
desertfox2 Posted 20 August 2016 Posted 20 August 2016 Ship has sailed. Strange one with Inler he didn't age well as a footballer seems like he peaked young. Happens with some of the African players but usually cause they are older than their passport says. Or players heavily dependent on pace.

If he is top priority is cm
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 20 August 2016 Posted 20 August 2016 Although unlikely, I agree with the thread post. He has experience in the Champions League which could be useful for our lads, and my only worry is that we do not have a guy like him with CL experience in the centre of the park unless I'm mistaken. That's not to say I'm unhappy with our midfield options, but a signing of experience would be important for me.
Riot Van Posted 20 August 2016 Posted 20 August 2016 Nah it's time to spend some money and buy a ****ing good one...
Monsell1976 Posted 20 August 2016 Posted 20 August 2016 We are desperate for a dynamic midfielder who can run at defences, and link between the midfield and strikers, I like inler, but he's no different to what we already have.
cityfanlee23 Posted 20 August 2016 Posted 20 August 2016 he has other offers so maybe there is a possibility he's been told he could work for a place? Schalke wanted him when he signed for us an are still interested so why wouldn't he leave?
Balj Posted 20 August 2016 Posted 20 August 2016 Inler wouldn't give us the energy and winning the ball ability which is what we desperately need post Kante and seemingly Mendy for a while. I had hoped Amartey may be the man but I haven't seen it yet but he may develop in time when he learns to play the position. I love King but him and Drinkwater are too much the same (and Inler is the same too but not as good as either at the moment) and frankly King is a replacement for Drinkwater (when injured/suspended) not complementary to him - I'd back a loan player or even an experienced signing if Mendy is going to be out for a while. A Schneiderlin from Man U on loan would be perfect given he's fallen behind Hererra and Fellaini.
