Was tonight too defensive?

I was more than okay to play this brand of football last season when it became apparent we were actually in with a chance of winning the league.

But for me tonight we were far far too defensive, and without Kante in the team I just can't see this way of playing working so well.

If you think back to the end of last season, we were nicking 1-0 wins a lot, and even had 90th minute winners.

But if we are going to play this way all season and end up midtable, it will be a bit disappointing. Although you could make a killing off backing under 2.5 goals in all our games lol

We weren't defensive enough last week (Gray instead of Albrighton as an example) and got punished. I think Ranieri learnt from that.

Don't think we were defensive at all today though. Arsenal had a few chances and so did we. It was a great 0-0 and could've gone either way.

We tried to play "our way" in this fixture last year and lost 5-2.

If Clattenberg doesn't miss an obvious penalty, we win the game 1-0. So no, for me Claudio had this one right. Wish Musa would have gotten on just a bit sooner, but Albrighton was great all day.

Pretty much this.

I don't think so at all. We managed the game well I thought and if we were better in the final third we would have won. Could have said the same last week as well though.

Well we did something tonight we didn't manage last season and get a point off Arsenal - most seasons we'd be celebrating this like we'd won the league :scarf: and by all accounts on the penalty decisions we should've got all three. Nothing wrong with the tactics I thought we looked like we were back today after last weeks pre seasonesque performance.

Yes we did play very well, but at no point in the game did I think we looked like scoring. We just need to find the balance. A lot of time tonight, vardy was the only player up the pitch. With the whole team basically camped in our own half. Do we really want to see this all season?

I'm delighted with a clean sheet today against top quality opposition. I'm not surprised in the slightest that Ranieri shored up the defence and I bet he was drilling it in to the players all week. We're still dangerous on the break and could easily have won today. I'm more than happy to keep it tight at the back all season and nick 1-0 wins thanks very much. Great teams are built on a great defence and we also have match winners capable of changing a game. The futures bright.

Maybe we were hesitant to go forwards at time because of the amount we were leaking at the back recently. I wouldn't say we were defensive but we definitely lacking attacking flare until the Moose came on.

What ?!? Didn't look like scoring? Did you miss Vardys one on one , or Mahrez's? Or the pen we should've got?

we were good. Just sadly didn't get the rub of the green

We weren't defensive at all.

First half we missed Kante big time, in the sense that we couldn't get the ball. That's not defensive, we just simply had to defend because we had none of the ball.

2nd half we were the better team and attacked well.

I thought it was the Leicester of last season and on another day we'd have got the 'rub of the green' and won.

Sorry but you cannot complain about today's performance.

Vardys one on one was down to an arsenal defensive error. There was next to no chances created all game, you must have been watching a different game.

2 penalties, Vardy one on one, a Mahrez effort and another couple of chances. We could easily have won that 2 or 3 today. It was a very good performance 2nd half once we got to grips in central midfield.

Nah I was definitely watching ours. Seriously deluded if you think we didn't look like scoring for the whole game

This will be the game when I realised we could win the league.

If you think 1 shot on target all game is looking like scoring then something isn't quite right there!

I thought we played a more solid, defensive game than we could have and it was the right decision since we took a point but could have won.

We played well today and made Arsenal look ordinary. I've got no gripes with the performance whatsoever.
