Free Falling Foxes Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 I plan on going to see Eight Days A Week. One review has suggested to watch it on the largest screen and best sound system you can find. It has been absolutely years since I have been to the flicks so; can anyone recommend the best one? Thanks
Trav Le Bleu Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 I would guess that you have to take into account which screen in which cinema it's being shown on... I imagine it's not going to be top billing and therefore likely to be shown on the cinema's smaller screens. I'd definitely say that Vue screen1 is the biggest in Leicester, but will it been shown on screen 1 - I doubt it.
jammie82uk Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 Showcase cinema de lux at the highcross is without a doubt the best cinema in my opinion seats are much better and more comfortable then the other 2 big name cinemas dont know if it will be show on it but they also have the xplus screen which is floor to ceiling and wall to wall with the latest Dolby atmos which the other 2 don't have
Guest WarehamFox Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 Went to watch this on Thursday at the Odeon in Freemen's Common. Was great, but not sure they are showing the Shea stadium concert after the credits (which was the best bit)!
Finnegan Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 Vue my favourite, partly because it's less busy and I'm a miserable cvnt. I'd have thought showcase might be a bit newer in its screens though?

I find how they rock back really annoying because they don't stay rocked back, instead it keeps leaning forwards. Can't get comfortable with them at all.

Didn't think the question was about the chairs! Sound and vision is the question!
urban.spaceman Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 Showcase for me - sound is good, projection is good, plus all the lights are off so it's less distracting than the Vue or Odeon. Phoenix is quite good also.

Great Boos Up Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 Which one has the least adverts and starts when the listed time says it should.

Keep an eye on the Phoenix as they generally show new releases about 3-4 weeks later than anyone else. And also check out the Regal in Melton too (hope that's not too far out), or the Broadway at Nottingham.

They all generally seem to be around 30 minutes, though the Phoenix is much shorter. Except of course for the rare occasion that I'm running 5 minutes late, in which case it starts on time.
kingcarr21 Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 The trailers before the film are quite often the best bit. I always make sure to be there to see the trailers. I think Showcase is the best cinema but i always tend to go Vue as its easier to get to with free parking

My brother , who usually accompanies me to the cinema, hates that I worry about missing them. Can't recommend a cinema in Leicester, but if you're down in Brighton there's only 2, the Odeon is good because you can VIP and get comfy chairs and leg room, and Cineworld has more high quality screens, but no VIP
Guest Posted 19 September 2016 Posted 19 September 2016 As everyone else has said Showcase is the best, the prices there are crazy and they change depending on how popular the film is. If it's a big blockbuster movie you'll pay full wack. If I am going to go to the cinema, i'd much rather spend a little more on travelling and go to Everyman in Birmingham or something like that. you can't beat there seating.. See blow
