Fez of Mahrez Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Seemed to give a hell of a lot against us in the first half today, and looked like lots of potential offsides not given against Chelsea too. It's often difficult to tell from the stands whether decisions are correct or not - just wondering what those watching on television thought?
orangecity23 Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Watching from the TV, his positioning was pretty terrible too. Once in the second half, we won the ball and Drinkwater (I think), was looking to launch a counter attack which was immediately slowed down as Marriner walked in front of him and prevented a quick pass, we then ended up playing a riskier ball and Chelsea broke up the other end and nearly scored. I was fuming at that. Huth's booking was a funny one considering Luis did exactly the same foul on the half way line without being booked, and the free kick awarded when Costa fell over in the first half was awful as well. He wasn't the reason we lost, only ourselves to blame for that, but Marriner was pretty poor today, in my opinion.

There was an incident in the second half where the ball got clipped down the line (I was right in line with it), it was a great pass and was going to lead to whatever passed for a chance for us today. The ball never got particularly close to going out and the linesman gave a throw. We lost today because we were atrocious - we'd not have won that game with a referee heavily biased in our favour - but once again the officiating was a joke.

Yeah I was nearly in line with it too, lost my shit when that happened. We were awful and deserved to lose, no doubt about it. These refs come across so smug though - doesn't help your mood when your team is already playing dismally.

I think it was Fuchs who passed it down the line for Mahrez. I was baffled a throw in was given.

Fox92 Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 He was shocking. Gave everything to Chelsea. Half of them weren't fouls just players going down. Costa ran over pointing at his knee after a good tackle. Dunno how he would have got on playing against Keane or Vieira.
st albans fox Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 scraping the barrel when we start moaning about a ref and lino that did little wrong in a game where we were totally outplayed for 70 mins. of course they made a few a few errors and being the away side, I would expect the majority of those to go against us. could easily have awarded a pen against Fuchs at the start of the second half (not giving Moses on schlupp evened that out) lets not get too precious about officials until they really do deserve it

CosbehFox Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 I thought Huth booking was incredibly harsh. Hence I was very annoyed when Albrighton was barrelled into the advertising boards with similar challenge in 2nd half
stevelcfc Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Didn't notice him, always a good sign about a ref performance. That said, we were that shite very little else got my attention.
Fox92 Posted 16 October 2016 Posted 16 October 2016 Not sure how anybody didn't notice the referee. He was shite. Hence why our end ended up chanting 'you don't know what you're doing'.... how can you miss that?

crazyleicester Posted 16 October 2016 Posted 16 October 2016 Im more concerned about the controllable to be fair. It wouldnt be the first time a ref gives home advantage, especially the so called big boys. We cant control that but we can control our captain acting like he was standing like a subbuteo player on the peno spot for ten seconds whilst one of the most dangerous strikers in the prem gets a free run to score!
red5 Posted 16 October 2016 Posted 16 October 2016 Not sure how good/bad they were but the ref scored a lot more in my match ratings than most players and the manager.
foxy boxing Posted 17 October 2016 Posted 17 October 2016 of course it's the ref and linesmen not giving us anything after giving us everything last season.LOL
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 17 October 2016 Posted 17 October 2016 I thought his positional sense was poor, and got in the way too much. Maybe he couldn't believe how slow and deliberate we've become
RowlattsFox Posted 17 October 2016 Posted 17 October 2016 Andre Marriner is probably the least enthusiastic referee there is, always has a face like he would rather be doing anything else.
