Fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea....great defensive midfielder in the Kante mould and still only 29 (surprisingly) seems like he's been at Chelsea forever but surely since we let them steal N'Golo we should be first in the queue....should know Musa well as well so what's not to like?? Add to this previous UCL experience and winners medal!!

Probably end up going somewhere like Milan though Delph is another one that has been mentioned. We do desperately need a powerful CM ideally with Prem League experience

I would be more interested in a loan deal until the summer and then buy him if he performs well. He hasn't played at all this season really and so a bit of an unknown and too risky to buy on a high wage. Probably be cheap to buy though, considering he is an experienced Premier League player at "29"...

Anyway still 7 weeks till the window opens and a lot can happen. Anyway I still think the silva deal will happen. Very soon into the window as well.

Cheap in the sense that Chelsea don't want/need him and he is on big wages no doubt, so the actually transfer cost won't be that high. Only thing that could drive it up, would be a bidding war I guess. Can see lot of teams like Palace, West Ham, Everton etc all potentially interested and ready to drive up the price. Not sure Chelsea would be that bothered if he joined us on loan, we are not a threat to them for the league and could do them some favours by beating their rivals.

I'm hoping SIlva just joins and Mendy turns out to be a gem but if not, then we can't sit back and do nothing. Taking gambles on players like Mikel or Delph on loan might be one of only a few limited options we have left

fazzyfox Posted 11 November 2016 Posted 11 November 2016 Always been surprised how he gets through games without getting two yellow cards, usually snide little trips and tugs, gets away with a lot, not in the Dennis Wise category but I've never liked him, even if we sign him and he becomes OUR snide cynical dirty *******. He could have done a job for us so far this season but hopefully Mendy will be as good if not better even without having Premier League experience.
