Not sure I really follow. We sold him aged 23 (no longer considered a young player) when it was looking so unlikely that he'd be able to get a game for us. We had to draw the line at some stage. We couldn't have just kept stringing him along.

DB11 Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Dropping him in the Championship is what stopped the rot in the season we lost to Watford in the play offs. Never been a fan of him since.

Never been a fan of him since. In fairness we started the following season (13/14) really well partly down to him. Don't forget that Whitbread started the first few games and was truly diabolical.

Nalis Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Was at Fulham 5-0 Reading last weekend and could easily have been 7 or 8. A lot of Reading fans seemed to point towards Moore's suspension in that game. He's a solid championship defender, hopefully he'll make it back in the Premier League some day.

Ted Maul Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 He had completely lost his confidence here and needed to move to get his career back on track. Glad it's looking like he's doing that, but it just wasn't going to happen for him here. Wasn't up to the standard we now need him to be, and he certainly wouldn't get to that level in our reserves.

He played a premier league club yesterday and struggled. We're a premier league club. He's not ready, or he may never be, to successfully make that step up. He may become good enough in the future, but he's not right now and isn't really showing signs of it happening soon. We did the right thing.

However, he looked out of his depth at Premiership level and it was right for both parties that he moved on. I hope he can improve and would love it if he could return as an acomplished top flight centre half.

Stadt Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 He needed game time to develop and he wasn't getting that here, he's improved as a result of playing more often so if he would have stayed here he wouldn't be any better now than he was.

crazyleicester Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Yeah, its right to judge Huth and Moore as equals and come out with Moore being the better option. After all, one came to us on loan and helped us stay up with some solid performances and the following season helped us to the premier league title and the following season the KO stages of the CL. The other gave us a few 5/10 and 6/10 performances for the first team when called upon and now plays in the Championship. I reckon we should buy him back and get Max Gradel and Alan Sheehan along with him and then we will be set for life.
