Trouble at the end

Recommended Posts

Posted

This has happened before.

Unfortunately, whoever briefs the police informs them that ALL Leicester fans have travelled to the game by train and, as a result, herd them in the direction of the train station along that path leading away from the ground.

It happened on the third visit to the ground I made.  Ideally, you want to walk across the car park and take that footbridge over the A52 and into the housing estate where parking is easy to find and getting away is relatively traffic free.  However, after this particular league game the police were adamant that everyone make their way towards the train station.

It is bizarre policing and knowing how fans can react, is only asking for trouble.  Luckily we managed to escape through the car park as some fans managed to do last night.

It's a poor showing from the police, without them, they'd have been no trouble at all.

just heard from a mate that some derby fans were actually impersonating police officers and carrying batons, hence why the mis-direction and aiming at anyone and everyone

It was carnage, literally made us go the long way to get to the train station (which we only just made) and the police were just pushing and hitting anyone, even people who were just walking a long. It was disgusting and you can see why people get peed off and start lashing back.

I was just walking along, no trouble at all between both sets and all of a sudden three coppers run through from behind whacking anyone in their way with their batons. I got one in the back for no reason whatsoever. There was space to pass through easily too.

Once past us they started pushing kids (literally young 10 year old kids) forcefully out of the way, again for no reason whatsoever.

Absolutely brainless policing.

Really sensible to build a wall separating the home and away fans and then have 2 officers stationed at the bottleneck.... I had a brain dead 45 year old bald bloke goading me and the police were a disgrace as they waded in... kids panicking everywhere... police lashing out at anyone and everyone, then the police shoehorned us down an alley that was in the wrong direction of the train station... once we were back on the road to the train station police riot vans appeared and there was no trouble then they jumped out and started wading in for no reason.

Really pathetic effort from the police, the entire operation was a disgrace.

If you have any witnesses and the officers number report it, that's a bang to rights excessive force case

i do have 3 or 4 witnesses as it happens, may try it. the only reason i havent already is i thought it would be a case of them all sticking together and denying anything happened.

They will stick together, lie, and drag it out, but with 3 or 4 witnesses, you have a good chance.

If they try and cover it up, appeal to the ipcc, for me, if it goes unchallenged, they continue being breaking the law, when they are supposed to uphold it.

At 17 your daughter is classed as a minor, and an assault on her is classed as a schedule 1 offence, which if found guilty, the officer would be required to sign a register, so is seen as very serious offence.

From what you are saying, there was no grounds for use of force, and wasn't reasonable or proportionate, as you say you was walking in the direction they asked, so compliant, and you committed no criminal offence, or they didn't have to prevent you from committing an offence.

At face value, excessive force 100%, nothing to lose mate.

If it was Leicester police, left you alone only if you broke into a odd numbered house, just don't break in to a even number lol

Good one.

I said I was on my way to my car and they followed me. Waited for me to do 58 in a 50 zone and pulled me over. Fine and 3 points. Bastards.

Your excuse is much better. I'll use that next time.

Not sure if anyone remembers Northampton away in League One where there was trouble near the pubs afterwards but a female police officer battened my mate in the back for no reason. We had witnesses and his mum even worked for the police in administration - tried to escalate it through the official complaints process but they stuck together, fabricated stories and basically did everything they could to wriggle out of it. Went on for months and nothing ever came of it.

The police are ****ing scum for stuff like this. Supposed to protect people but as soon as one of their own does something wrong they cover it up and sweet it under the carpet.

Bloody pigs eh.

After reading the posts and knowing a bit about the background this made me smile from the Merc (days late) quoting Derby police

Supt Harrison said: "If you have any footage or information that will help our investigation to deal with the perpetrators of this disorder please let us know by ringing 101 or contacting Sergeant Manjit Chauhan online through our website.

A mate had a similar experience, he saw a teenage lad get shoved to the floor in front of him by a police office, he then bent down to pick him up and was in turn shoved and berated by the police. He said there was no need for any of it, didn't see any trouble between the fans and thought the police were far too heavy handed particularly with the number of kids around.
