The silver lining of relegation

Recommended Posts

If the worst happens and we do go down one thing I am looking forward to happening is it reigning-in/getting rid of some of our patheticly entitled fans that seem to have sprung up since last year.

We are and always have been a yo-yo side we are probably between the 26th and 18th biggest clubs in the country. We are not sodding arsenal.

Supporting Leicester does not and should not guarantee success and I'm sick to death of seeing people go balastic blaming god knows who when a few results don't go our way.

In my short time supporting them I have seen Leicester city get promoted 6 times and relegated 5 and trust me I will see many more of both in the rest of my life.

One thing I had never seen before and will never see again is Leicester City beating the likes of united and liverpool to win the the best, richest, most competitive league in the world.

I have never seen 250 thousand people on Vicky park crying tears of joy.

Now if you will excuse me I'm off to carry on supporting the manager and team who gave me some of the best days of my life in the hope that they can postpone the inevitable relegation for another season or two.

And if they don't manage it? I wouldn't change a single thing!

COME ON LEICESTER

This place and the ground will not be a great place if we are losing a few games in the Championship after a totally avoidable relegation. Think you may be in for a shock.

Agree completely with the OP. Obviously I want us to stay up, but going down is hardly the disaster some some to think it would be. It's all part of being a Leicester fan.

Yeah the Championship is a great place when you're winning- the games come twice a week and there's always plenty of cracking away days at that level.

It's dark and depressing when you're losing though. Been a while since we experienced that.

Quite, unfortunately being a glory fan doesn't automatically make you an over entitled twat, there will be plenty knocking around in the 2nd tier.

I can't be arsed to read the OP but basically Barnsley away and Scunthorpe if they even still exist are the only perks to the championship.

Leeds away for 42 quid is not.

'a few' is a bit of an understatement Mr super fan. This premier league season has been discraceful.

Trying to discredit some of the fans by alluding to their joining date while condoning mediocre football.

How cheap.

No one is asking the team and the manager to challenge for the title again. Or making it to the top ten, even if it would have been a real possibility. the Just show a bit of guts and avoid getting relegated straight after being Champions. If that make me a pathetically over entitled fan, well I'm pretty proud to be one then.

You should be happy to have fans from all over the world. That's not something that happen every day, to every club.

But hey, let's go back to the Championship and stay between "true" fans.

Haha 'disgraceful' thats exactly the type of entitlement I'm talking about. Below my expectations? yes. Disgraceful don't make me laugh.

This season as fan I've been to brugge and Copenhagen away in the champions league and I've seen us beat FC Porto at our place and win our group, I've been to Wembley I've seen us demolish man city at home and we are two games against lower leauge opposition away from an FA cup quarter final. Oh and we haven't been in the bottom 3 all season.

Im 32 and in the whole grand scheme of being a Leicester fan I can think of at least 11 seasons worse than this and with a bit more magic in either cup and avoiding relegation it could still be one of the better ones.

Only on FT can there be mooted to be some 'silver lining' to the Champions of England getting relegated on the following season.

It would be possibly the biggest sporting fook up in history.

Well done on quoting our success in every competition other than the bread and butter one inwhich we compete week in week out (term compete used loosely).

Look back through our results and then consider the money we have spent and the fact we are supposed to be Champions of England....

Couldn't agree more and sad to say we are exactly where we deserve to be based on what we've put out this year

Yes we're not soddin Arsenal, I agree and 18th to 26th biggest club is exactly the point of there will be no silver lining. With the perfect storm and champions status we had a once in history opportunity to sell, buy well and establish ourselves as a bigger club; and boy we really ****ed it up.
