NewEnglandFox Posted 18 February 2017 Posted 18 February 2017 Does anyone else think that Ranieri sounds harsher on the reserves in his post match press conferences in games like this, the derby away tie, and Porto? Saying that they've missed there chance? That idiot took off our 2 best players today and kept on our 2 worst. He isn't the only problem but he is a problem and he's the easiest one to fix.

HybridFox Posted 18 February 2017 Posted 18 February 2017 I hope everyone who went today has got home safe . Putting aside the team performance, there were absolutely disgusting scenes at the end. You win some you lose some in football, but the behaviour of Millwall fans was disgraceful today. A pitch invasion is one thing, but to then start throwing objects into our end. It's a surprise more of our fans weren't seriously injured. None of us were allowed to leave either as more mobs of the scum were waiting outside the ground and the station for a fight. (Many more around various tube stations) I saw elderly, children and disabled supporters being squashed and having to stand for long periods while the understaffed police kept us like animals in a pen. Many crying with fear. The whole thing was an absolute farce. And from what it looks like, it hasn't even been reported in the media. I highly doubt the FA will do much retrospectively. They will get a measly fine but for the safety of supporters, their next home tie ought to be played behind closed doors!

So it's acceptable is it to have a manger who is so obviously failing in just about every aspect of his job. A manager who has enjoyed the biggest ever investment in players in the history of our club. A manager whose, pretty modest target at the start of the season was to finish 10th, a target which looks a long long way off. Ok so as you say it is all the player's fault this season then just as much last season was all down to them and not the manager. I am sorry but I don't find it acceptable for a manger of our club to essentially give up on a match like he did today. His pre-match press conference and attitude to team selection as well as his frankly weird substitutions show just how bothered he was about this match. A match we should have set out to win, a win that would have put us in the quarter finals of the FA cup. Gary Rowett. There's a young Birtish manager who I'm sure would love to have a go. Ok so it might not work out but it isn't working out now is it?
An Away Move Posted 18 February 2017 Posted 18 February 2017 Diabolical. What I found most infuriating was our play to the wings all the time. There was no one to head it in. We missed Ulloa in that respect. Is he really injured? Or actually still 'on strike'? I enjoyed the couple of clever balls in through the middle from Kapustka. Where were the attempts at clever passes through the middle. We had no penetration against a fecking League 1 side. Musa at least tried hard. Shinji! Why didn't you put your boot through that ball. Trying to dink the keeper from 3 yards?! Really?!! Millwall deserved to win. You could see it coming. We faded SO badly after actually playing ok in first half. Despite lack of any real penetration. Here's the 'send off' we received from the Millwall fans after the game. It was harmless enough, but actually could have got quite serious due to the lack of stewards.
dynamark Posted 18 February 2017 Posted 18 February 2017 Just watched their goal for the first time . Chilwell (who Ive always said was vastly overated )was well behind the play and had at two chances to put a tackle in with his right foot but because he only uses that one for standing on he was poking with his left foot - pathetic for a professional footballer any kind of reasonable tackle with the right would have done the job. Very poor effort the lad needs to learn hpw to defend and read the defensive side of the game .May make it but well off.

A few points: I think you will find your lot started the coin throwing, this is why we rarely allocate the lower tier to away fans All away fans in higher profile games get kept back, because South Bermondsey station can't handle large volumes of people, so it's safer for everyone If you were kept in how do you know that "more mobs of the scum were waiting outside the ground and the station for a fight" "and at various tube stations" Don't worry, I'm pretty sure old jug ears will mention it on Match of the day - probably put it down to people who voted to leave the EU

I was held at South Bermondsey along with other fans and only let through to the station when Millwall fans weren't there (as they were held back when we were let through). How can you report what happened at various tube stations? They did throw some things, which was not good. But it could have got a lot worse. I thought it was mainly mouthing off. If they really wanted to kick off there were nowhere near enough stewards to stop them. It was definitely unsavoury, but from what I saw not as bad as you make out. I'm not defending them. I just didn't recognise what you reported. Not saying it didn't happen either.
dynamark Posted 18 February 2017 Posted 18 February 2017 Denis Wise working as a steward at Millwall ?

China Black Posted 18 February 2017 Posted 18 February 2017 Disappointing to lose. We should have taken our chances. Okazaki really fluffed his lines. Really wanted to see Leicester go all the way.

Cityfox60 Posted 18 February 2017 Posted 18 February 2017 What a pile of shite. Totally embarrassing AGAIN!! Wasted big opportunity to build on last season with good signings....lots of decent players would've come in the summer....none now though. This season has ruined last now. Time moves on, it's about NOW! (Look at Forest & Leeds) I'm now hating the players. Prem is everything....who wants next season at Brentford & Barnsley??! i don't care about Champions League anymore, it's been totally spoilt. Team needs rebuilding for the Champonship. I'd keep the useless tossers we've got and play them in reserves. Don't give some of them (Mahrez, Vardy) an easy out with a transfer.
HoustonFox Posted 18 February 2017 Posted 18 February 2017 Not sure how to describe how I feel after today's game. We played well in the first half and apart from a couple of scary moments, were in the ascendency. Their tactic to make a mess of the pitch worked, this was actually a ground where hoofball may have worked. Wague and Benny looked pretty solid at the back and as soon as Wague went off I started getting worried. The Kapi substitution was mind boggling, he was playing well and linking midfield and attack and actually PASSING the ball to OUR OWN PLAYERS. He should have stayed on and Shinji should have made way. Mendy and King (I'm going to get slated) looked good in the first half, apart from Mendy's cross field "passes". Musa is in and out, man he could be good if he thought about what to do. Same with Demarai, I was saying it all game, and have been all season. If that lad could pass he would be amazing. Shinji was woeful, Chilwell's worst game for the club. Albrighton was shocking, waste of a sub. Vardy at least had a shot but by that point we had no one passing the ball when he game on as Kapi and Gray went off. Embarrassing substitution to be honest. Ranieri once again set up the team and then changed it from 4231 to 442 and we stopped working. He should have kept formation and swapped personnel, it was clear at half time Shinji, much as I love him, should have been taken off. Sending off was a non-issue, not sure what we were doing as Millwall hardly parked the bus when they went down to 10, and we had some good breakaways. Really worry where the next goal is coming from. If we bring on Albrighton, we need a big man, otherwise, don't bring him on. I'll be glad that I'm at work when we play Sevilla, I'll avoid the result but am worried to press play to be honest...

KFS Posted 18 February 2017 Posted 18 February 2017 That is literally the worst clobber I've seen in a while. Regardless of the result today, at least most of us can rise above the pond life in that stadium today. Embarrassing football club. Anyway, on our performance- annoyingly I thought we played very well other than their goal. We kept and moved the ball very well and took authority despite the atmosphere. One moment defined our fate but there's some good players in that lineup today. We'd be quite competitive in the Championship with that 11 which makes me think it wouldn't be too bad to go down, clear out and rebuild.
