The 65th minute tribute

yesterday was the best and only time to do it. most people's emotions are all so raw and considering the media coverage and popularity of the decision. therefore the best to time do it to get everyone pouring out their emotion with the most feeling - the loudest chant and the biggest applause.

I love that there was absolutely no booing at any point last night. Obviously not during the match given the way the game panned out but before or even when player names are being called out. Collectively, 30,000ish people came together and gave the respect to Ranieri as he so richly deserved whilst for the rest of the match giving our support to the team that they needed.

Spot on  - I would like to see a statue outside our ground

Strange that a few people are being so negative.  The way things went nobody had the chance to bid Claudio farewell, to not do so in the first match after his dismissal would have been a far greater malfeasance.

Lovely moment, but can you imagine if it happened and the score was 3-0 to them? The press would have a field day saying we hate the club and players.

On that note, I see the press have conveniently ignored the fact we got right behind the team from the off and clearly the whole ground was behind every single player. I thought there was an "in it together" type feel about last night.

Great use of the world malfeasance, you don't get that on here every day!lol

Sometime in the future it would be appropriate to have a song. After all don't Utd still sing about Busby and that era? But for now that should be it. We need to back the players 100% until the end of the season.

I just found it embarrassing. I mean did they think it would bring him back ? If I were the owners I'd sell the club just to spite the idiots who like to bite the hand that feeds them . Shameful and totally unnecessary.

It was great and it was great because it was spontaneous (or so it seemed I saw nothing about it being planned) but a few people started it, it had a knock on effect and it was nice, respectful and thankful.

It was closure.

Was planned as saw it on Facebook a couple i'd days before. Didn't look as good on TV as it was live though

Bring Claudio back...

... to model for his statue outside the ground.

Other than that, the chapter's closed. Yesterday's tribute was a fitting farewell by the fans. I was only missing the "Dilly, ding, dilly, dong" soundbite as a temporary replacement for the Post Horn Gallop.

Although imagine if the owners had sent out Ranieri masks for everybody again.

Notice how they scored straight after... bad Karma.

Stop it.

I thought it was bad defending personally..

An expanded vocabulary makes a great smokescreen for diminished intellect. ;)

Thought it was a fitting tribute for Ranieri. The way the whole ground collectively sung his name was very good, people meant it as well.

Statue outside ground and that's all we need.

Would have to be pretty large.

Whilst he was in charge last year its fairly obvious he wasn't solely responsible for winning the league.

I think we'll be singing about Claudio until we die unless we manage to win a few more titles and what are the chances of that. I'm not a fan of it happening in the 65' of every game but he is a legend of Leicester City and we should accept that.

The "tribute" was perfect. The chant was so so so loud. But that should be it. We're Leicester City, not Ranieri FC.

Exactly this, nice gesture and respect but following the gesture I felt it had a temporary effect on the players and it's about them, who's in charge and the club moving  forward.

In time the wounds have healed and things will be put in perspective.

Whilst we all appreciate Claudio adding that class and allowing the side to continue to progress, yes he helped us get our biggest most high profile prize but didn't make the greatest impact.

Little, MON and Pearson worked their nuts off rebuilding the club throughout and taken us from a possible a Coventry style path of despair and oblivion. Whilst they didn't reach the same heights of glory, in real terms at the level we were punching and money available their achievement was greater.
