Winsum Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 Will this carry on every game until Claudio's next birthday. See no problem until he is 91 otherwise
HybridFox Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 Beautiful moment. I really hope he was watching this on TV. Not bad from "ungrateful fans" It was our first game since his departure, that too at home. It was an appropriate and nice gesture for everything he's done for us. But personally, I think we ought to move on now. We've said our thanks, he will get a statue one day. But time to focus on the season now and take the shackles of our players and Shakey. The job's not done yet. It's a new era now and who's to say we can't still bring success. What's happened is history. Let's go create some more! In Shakey we trust
GlennyFox55 Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 Would take away from it if we did. Was a good way to say goodbye and thankyou. Special moment. Time to move onwards and upwards now.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 Yes We should publish an Applause + Lightshow schedule on the back of the clappers 12th minute - For the fans 13th minute - For superstition 46th minute - For the caterers and their lovely pies (I recommend coordination for the light show to spell out PIES) 65th minute - For Claudio 84th minute - For the year the club was founded (In all seriousness we found the perfect balance last game, back the team until the minutes appreciation - then move on back to supporting the team. It's done, he's gone, now we back the team.)

MattyFromLE Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 The "tribute" was perfect. The chant was so so so loud. But that should be it. We're Leicester City, not Ranieri FC.
AKCJ Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 We've done our bit, now we ought to focus solely on the team. Nice moment for Ranieri (even if it was seriously OTT, he hasn't died ffs) but no amount of chanting or banners will bring him back.
volpeazzurro Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 Thought it was apt and whilst time to move on and all that, I wouldn't mind one more airing of it at the Seville home match. Emotional I accept, but I couldn't believe hearing the Champions league music at our first match and it was hugely down to Claudio Imo. Although it's ok to adopt the 'no one likes us we don't care' attitude, I think this gesture on the European circuit would go down well. Particularly when we get to the final!
Babylon Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 Notice how they scored straight after... bad Karma. Stop it.

yorkie1999 Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 The only thing missing was claudio's face on the clapper and giving it the finger.
lgfualol Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 Statue outside ground and that's all we need.

Nugent Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 Thought it was a disgrace that the players didn't all wear black armbands as a sign of remembrance last night imo.
trabuch Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 I thought it was the right thing to do - but only 'cos we were 3-0 up. If it was a tighter match - bad idea. As it was, Liverpool scored just after. Glad we did it, but that's enough.
Matt Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 It was great and it was great because it was spontaneous (or so it seemed I saw nothing about it being planned) but a few people started it, it had a knock on effect and it was nice, respectful and thankful. It was closure.
Voll Blau Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 Doing it every week would be moronic. Was a lovely and appropriate gesture last night, but continuing it would see it dissolve into meaninglessness. Plus, as with all the 'minute's applause on certain minutes' shite, are people seriously telling me they'll do it if we score a goal on 65?
cc_star Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 God no!! He's done. Gone. Name a matchday suite after him, campaign for a statue and sod off and worship that instead!

My understanding is that it was all pre-planned for the 65th minute (because CR is 65 years old) I do wonder if we'd have all sang so passionately and loudly if we were 3-0 down at the time
StanSP Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 yesterday was the best and only time to do it. most people's emotions are all so raw and considering the media coverage and popularity of the decision. therefore the best to time do it to get everyone pouring out their emotion with the most feeling - the loudest chant and the biggest applause. I love that there was absolutely no booing at any point last night. Obviously not during the match given the way the game panned out but before or even when player names are being called out. Collectively, 30,000ish people came together and gave the respect to Ranieri as he so richly deserved whilst for the rest of the match giving our support to the team that they needed.
Jobyfox Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 People are just so ungrateful! I think we should do a minutes applause in the 53rd minute for Nigel Pearson, the 64th minute for MON and the 65th minute for Claudio - every game.
