Just trying to point out that unless we have 2 better CBs here i wouldn't be so quick to sell our captain.

I personally think we have two equal if not better already. To me if he stays he should not be captain.

I agree three reasons I would sell.

Expensive bit part we also need to free up wages and squad places to bring in new players.

That's such a stupid comment. I think we all mean a younger equal not a sub standard player.

The point was what happens if the 'younger equal' turns out to just be younger? You don't know, So why risk it? By all means bring in new defenders but keep Morgan and let them fight for position.

Or for me just bring In 1 new young defender to replace Was and go with Huth, Benny, Morgan and new young CB (not in that order btw). Then the following season look to bring another CB to the club (or even use Amartey or an academy player)

Huth is better, I think Benny needs judging over a longer period of time and I'm still not convinced he will want to hang around knowing we will strengthen here and therefore I think we should do what I said above, sign 2 where 1 of which is back up and the other comes in knowing he needs to fight for his place.

Realistically we aren't going to sign Michael Keane and Macguire/Gibson are yet to fully convince me that they would be guaranteed starters in any team aiming for Europe which we should be doing.

I cant see the logic of Benny being ahead of Morgan. Benaloune isn't anywhere near the level of Morgan. He makes far too many errors and constantly is beat in the air.

He's going nowhere.

Hypothetically speaking, imagine the posts when he goes to Newcastle and he does brilliantly and we question why did we ever sell him.

Forget he lifted the trophy, he's a brilliant player.

He's also 33 years old and Newcastle want to pay a decent fee for him. If we can get a suitable replacement this is a no brainer for me. Absolute hero during his time here but we need to look to the future and this is a win win as it means we can change captain too.

It's definitely a sensible option.

Playing Top Trumps with players isn't the same thesedays and with many, the age stat is not as degenerating as it used to be.

I know you'll be well aware there are enough examples of Prem defenders in their mid 30's still doing a great job.

I think we use the John Terry model and get the best out of him whilst we can and then wind him down.

We will still need 2 exceptional CB's, but they'll be brought through the system.

If we are to sell Wes... 2 centre backs will be needed. Maguire & Gibson could be a great partnership.

But im taking this with a pinch of salt until we here from a more responsible source.

We're in an era where £5-10m for a player isn't that significant. As long as Wes is seen as first team, he should be kept as the club as he has been captain throughout the most successful period in our history. If he is not seen as first eleven next year, I guess it becomes a different matter. I can't see it being a popular move in the dressing room if he goes.

I highly doubt he's going to be apart of our best centre back pairing next season

I cant believe people are debating a rumour that was made up by the sun

There's actually alot of  online stuff going round with this. There's  no way of knowing if it came from the Sun first or if they sourced it from somewhere else. Other reputable sources have picked up on it too.

May well depend on who the manager is. If it's Shakey, I think he will.

Can't wait to see the faces of the Newcastle supporters that visit his tattoo shop and come out with a Vardy ink lol

if next season our first choice CB's are still Huth and Morgan then we are in trouble IMO personally I would only keep one of them at the club
