Guest Posted 24 May 2017 Posted 24 May 2017 So a none Leicester fan had an interesting point. That Shakey has screwed hinself over A) stats show that new managers rarely do well and therefore he is inevitably facing the sack B) if he doesn't get the job he faces being replaced by the new managers back room staff

Wizerud Posted 25 May 2017 Posted 25 May 2017 New managers inevitably face the sack? Uhh, well yeah. Unless you can leave on your own terms you will get sacked. His only remit was keeping us up when we were in the relegation zone. He (and the players) did that easily. He passed the test with flying colours. Whether that is enough for him to keep the job is another matter.

Rob1742 Posted 25 May 2017 Posted 25 May 2017 Think I get what you mean. But, I would suggest Shakey would be on less than £100k a year as a number two. He will have taken a short term managers role, where his wages have increased significantly and the owners will also somehow have found a way to retro a substantial payment to him for keeping us up. If if he gets the managers job, even for a year he would be on £600k minimum, so even if it goes pear shaped he will have done well. So Shakey will be flying high at the moment. What the future holds nobody knows, but if it all goes tits he will always go back to a number two roll somewhere, but have loads of wonga in the bank from this experience.

The higher calibre of manager the more unlikely this would happen. It's an all or nothing situation for him I think now.
