fazzyfox Posted 27 May 2017 Posted 27 May 2017 Interesting to compare the opposition table to the actual one, Arsenal with a jammy deflection away and lucky to come away unbeaten at the King Power are significantly lower than their league finish whilst Middlesborough showed more (or you could say that due to the timing of the fixtures were able to show more) against us than they managed against most others. Burnley crumbled after the fist goal in our home game and only a handball aided goal helped them at their place and they failed to impress, coming last in that table but rarely looked likely to go down. Man City were generally poor until their late rally in our home game and away they looked there for the taking relying on a bizarre day by Bobby Madley to bail them out. Which brings me to Madley. We had him five times, too high a ratio for me when there's more than 9 or 10 refs out there! The European refs fare well aside from the Porto ref who fell for everything and Athletico away "Kerching". All very interesting, good work.
Livid Posted 28 May 2017 Posted 28 May 2017 Against us Bournemouth always look decent. Along with Arsenal and Man Utd I believe they are the only team we haven't beaten in the last two seasons.
eblair Posted 28 May 2017 Posted 28 May 2017 I don't know how the porto ref wasn't the worst on the year, don't think there's another game where a ref hasn't made a major decision but still the ref is the defining memory of that game. Also odd to see our worst and best refs have all been from the champions league
ousefox Posted 28 May 2017 Posted 28 May 2017 Thanks for doing these all season @DB11. Always enjoy reading these and I know it must take some effort.
Koke Posted 28 May 2017 Posted 28 May 2017 Pretty accurate numbers. Represents the sesson well. Who was the ref at Stoke who sent Vardy off? We lost our heads that day.

TheUltimateWinner Posted 28 May 2017 Posted 28 May 2017 Very interesting stats, crazy to learn we've had Madley 5 times this season. Agree with those ref ratings, Oliver being the stand out in the prem as always.
Stadt Posted 28 May 2017 Posted 28 May 2017 Haha Palace 7th in the opposition table even though we scored 5 goals against them and took 4 points
foxy boxing Posted 28 May 2017 Posted 28 May 2017 Clearly the European referees were head and shoulders above the Premier league ones
DB11 Posted 28 May 2017 Author Posted 28 May 2017 Was hoping to do part two today but I was five hours late off!! Hopefully tomorrow
Dan Posted 29 May 2017 Posted 29 May 2017 The Copenhagen referee has 100% won that because of how bad the one against Porto was
Dan Posted 29 May 2017 Posted 29 May 2017 West Ham 6th in the opposition table despite being the only side we did the double over mad how it works.
Livid Posted 29 May 2017 Posted 29 May 2017 To have that low an average score after 5 games in charge really highlights how poor Dean and Madley are. Maybe it's our style of play just doesn't go with their style of refereeing?
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 29 May 2017 Posted 29 May 2017 Can't believe Pawson from Stoke away isn't in the top five worst. He and the linesmen too were dire that day.
Ian Nacho Posted 29 May 2017 Posted 29 May 2017 That Turkish ref we had against Porto had to be the worst for me. Although there have been some referees that have given incorrect game changing decisions, such as Stoke and Madrid, this guy literally got everything wrong.
norwichfox Posted 3 June 2017 Posted 3 June 2017 Thanks once again for your sterling efforts on these stats, they are very much appreciated....and make for an interesting read.
