I know it's boring, and it keeps being said but.... we are quite well stocked in the wing areas, with Gray and Albrigton. Throw Tom Lawrence in there too, and give Kaputska some time, then we're well covered with quality. Get a high quality no.10 in. This is the best way to replace the loss.

No point having a grade 1 number 10 and a novice winger.

Both Gray and Albrighton are high grade wide players IMO. Both highly underrated. Lawrence is up and coming too. Musa looks poor in this league tbh, and Kaputska appears to be not up to being given a chance. People have been doubling up on Mahrez all season. This attention will be focused on 'the no.10', thus giving say Gray and Albrighton even more license

Really we had a class winger in Weller and a kid striker. Most of the team did not get the kid he was so quick and caught off side. Weller did ill leave you to work out who the kid was.

How can you call gray a high grade wide player? What does that mean?

Well the rush to sign Mahrez has been overwhelming, teams are falling over each other to get the former player of the year cum lazy bastard signed up.

A lot are doing holidays atm to start with. Second would you show your hand? Until a bid goes in would you want a bidding war. I hope no one steps in.

That way we get a quality player next season or till Xmas for nothing. He will have to play for his move if he truly wants it. He did not do it last season believing the press.

If he's as good as he thinks he needs to prove it. He never did that last season thinking one season was enough.

This coming seasons his time to prove he is not a one season wonder. That maybe all he is but great for us.

Spurs are relying on him moaning about the fee so they can sign him when we decide he's worth a bottle of irn bru  and a packet of pringles

Eh..fair question..

I personally think Gray is a very good footballer. He's good enough to start for most Premier League teams, in my humble opinion. I'm saying that's my definition of top quality. I used the word 'grade' in my answer, to the post in which the word 'grade' was used.

sorry for any confusion caused.

My mate's a Blues fan. Thinks he's unreal.

When ive watched him for England U21s he's looked the dogs. I rate him. Think you're being a little harsh there.

Still, this forum is built on opinion!

There is no replacement for Mahrez. The same as there is no replacement for Messi when he finishes at Barca and there was no replacement for Pele when he retired from international football for Brazil.

The question is, who can play wide for Leicester and enable us to be competitive in every Premier League game that we play, and most especially who can perform well in comparison to his performances 2016/17.

We have 5 wide players on our books, Gray, Musa, Kapustka, Barnes and Lawrence in addition to the perpetually and deservedly selected Albrighton. I would hope that one of them would step up to the plate.

Schmeichel

Simpson Morgan Huth Chilwell

Albrighton Drinkwater N'Didi Gray

Okazaki Vardy

We would be no worse off without Mahrez based on this season in my opinion. Gray is capable of stepping in and having a similar impact. We'd also be about 40 million better off, which would give us the freedom to gamble 20 odd million on his replacement knowing we have Gray to step in just in case new signing does a Musa.

In terms of a replacement, I have been watching a lot of Dutch football this season and I reckon players such as the following could do a good job: Milot Rashica, Bertrand Traore, Arber Zeneli.
