Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 30 May 2017 Posted 30 May 2017 I'd love Domenico Berardi but think he could do better, unfortunately.

Redouane Posted 30 May 2017 Posted 30 May 2017 Florian Thauvin would be well worth the money IMO. Had a crazy season. He also wears the number 26

But 50p won't do.

It was absolutely stupid to continue picking Mahrez when a) he was out of form b)we knew he was leaving and c) we were risking convincing Gray he was better off somewhere else. Gray's not the answer and the more I watch him the less convinced I feel. What I'd want to see is a first class signing and some indication that Gray is determined to improve as a footballer next season in the way that he should have done last season. I don't know if he's in denial about the need to improve, sulking or just is just not determined enough to do what it takes to be a top professsional but, if any of those things are the case, then he needs to get himself a mentor who he respects and who will take him forward. Because his chance will be gone if he's not careful and it's no use thinking it'll all change at another club because you take yourself with you. And, never mind looking at others for excuses, the first person you need to criticise and motivate is yourself. Humility, a determination to listen and learn, focused hard work and a philosophy that says "the team comes first" is what's required as many others should surely have told him by now. So it suggests the "listen and learn" bit is number one requirement. And positive thinking even to the exclusion of most everything else for a time. In football terms, the clock's running down and it would be a shame to waste the skill in the feet for failing to apply the mind. .
lgfualol Posted 31 May 2017 Posted 31 May 2017 I can only see Gray working if we bring in a proper CAM. Gray, Okazaki and Albrighton behind Vardy would be underwhelming and relegation-battle standard.

Innovindil Posted 31 May 2017 Posted 31 May 2017 Bit of a wild suggestion, but with all these attackers man city are bringing in does this mean sterling will be pushed further down the pecking order? He looked pretty good at the start of the season...
foxes21 Posted 31 May 2017 Posted 31 May 2017 If we're talking like for like replacements, then Ndidi's mate Leon Bailey would be perfect. He hasn't really settled at Leverkusen. Perhaps a loan move, with a view to a permanent that we can activate in January.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 31 May 2017 Posted 31 May 2017 Ziyech, Sisto, Grosicki. Unlikely but the sort of names who would be possible good replacements.
shen Posted 31 May 2017 Posted 31 May 2017 Ziyech gets mentioned a lot, but what about Younes or Bertrand Traoré in that team? Traoré is unlikely to make an impact at Chelsea next season, so no doubt they are willing to sell.

FoxinNotts Posted 31 May 2017 Posted 31 May 2017 I know it's boring, and it keeps being said but.... we are quite well stocked in the wing areas, with Gray and Albrigton. Throw Tom Lawrence in there too, and give Kaputska some time, then we're well covered with quality. Get a high quality no.10 in. This is the best way to replace the loss.
SCP1906 Posted 31 May 2017 Posted 31 May 2017 Replacing Mahrez? Gelson Martins 19 hours ago, AmarteyAndChill said: Vardy Bruma Ziyech Albrighton Ndidi Drinky possibly Adrien Silva as a creative deep lying midfielder. Also, Slimani & Ulloa as goal threats with gray & Lawrence as back up wingers. Thoughts? Is that realistic? Adrien Silva and João Mário Vardy G. Martins João Mário Albrighton Ndidi Adrien Martins can play on both sides, João Mário can play in any position in midfield or wings. Slimani and Drinky, depending of the game could play too. With Gelson Martins and/or João Mário playing Slimani would score a lot. A dream as a fox/Leicester City FC fan, a nighmare as a lion/Sporting CP fan to see Martins and Silva leave.
