Replacing Mahrez

I really hope not, I don't want to go down the route of just pace and power. What's made us good was Walsh buying different sorts of wingers. Whether it was Knocky or Mahrez we've had trickery on the wing to compliment pace and workman like players elsewhere.

Agreed Gray isn't the finished article. However, I would still much prefer to see him play in that position rather than sign a direct replacement. He needs the experience and with some regular game time and confidence I'm sure he will do a great job!

 

I would be more open to replace mahrez with a creative player that plays just behind the striker in a more central role.

We're not in a bad position winger wise. We've got a solid pro in Marc Albrighton and 3 very good young prospects in Gray, Lawrence and Kapustka who appear to be coming along nicely. Confident the club can address this and move on from Mahrez, as good a player though he was for us.

not really. Albrighton, Ndidi, drinkwater and gray is a decent midfield. 

 

bench we can have james, lawrence, chilwell, king etc. 

 

What I am certainly not joking about is what a waste the end of the season was for us. We have known Mahrez was leaving for a long time, As soon as we lost to Atletico we should have played Gray every game, and test how good he is for us. If not for injuries Chilwell would not have even played. Amartey apparently is a cb, he played about 10 minutes there end of season. He could have started and we see if he is good enough for this year.

Dami had to be given the chance. He's superb. Unless we go balls out and spend 30-40 million then I'd rather that.
