King Power Corruption lawsuit

Recommended Posts

about £705 million, not that that makes much difference...... but still two more lawsuits to come !

this would be greater than our greatest escape if they can get out of this one.

dread to think of the consequences for Leicester.

hopefully they can call elections soon in Thailand, its been a long time coming, it just might give them a more favourable environment.

So, our new sleeve sponsor is owned by the same organisation who are bringing corruption charges against King Power lol

"Let us stick this purple shit on your sleeve and we could maybe come to a deal"

I live in Phuket. King Power is huge all over Thailand. Nothing on the national news about any of this. Local people think nothing will come of it.

Last time people from Leicester were filmed in Thailand... it turned out okay

I said something on FT years ago, about their fortune basically riding on the good will of thai government & as governments change over there quite recklessly it could easily be taken from them

AFAIK they were quite well-in with Thaksin Shinawatra and the later parties he supports from outside Thailand

As Thailand lurches from one party Shinawatra backs to the rivals, Shinawatra's associates could be seen either as a cash cow or a business to overthrow

Personal fortune of 5 billion dollars, turnover of 2.4 billion dollars a year.

This lawsuit is for a percentage of profits remember, so if they owe 15%, it means they've got 75% profit to pay that out of.

The case will get argued, they'll counter sue and they'll settle for a fraction of the price.

So long as the bloke doesn't have his cash sat in Thai banks, then it's hunky dory for a few years yet.

My mate at work goes to Thailand every month for two weeks as his partner is Thai. He was talking to me about it saying it's not as big a deal out there as the U.K. press are making it to be. Since the military coup the army are spending too much money and they are looking to fill their accounts anyway way they can.

It's not that king power did anything technically wrong, it's just the have a sweet deal and make a lot of money, so the army want more of a cut.

Struggling to contain my surprise.

A bigger worry might be that the franchise for the 2 main airports expires in the next couple of years and they will have to re-bid . Could derail the gravy train if they have a black mark against them
