Clever Fox Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 Just when things were going so well for us. Still I don't think the Owners will be losing any Sleep over it. They'll buy their way out of it which seems to be the way things are done there.
gerrytaggart Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 Pocket change....now lets get some hookers in and make ot rain.
Great Boos Up Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 Also interesting that the funds of their wealth from the duty free concession expire in 3 years.
fazzyfox Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 And in unrelated breaking news the price of membership has just gone up to £1000.
Ted Maul Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 At least we're currently self-sufficient- as long as we're in the PL, we can withstand the owners being in a spot of bother for a while.
Happy Fox Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 Didnt someone mention that this Mystery Chinese backer we have will fund us in the long run after the Thais?
southfox66 Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 If they owe 300 million aint that about the amount they poured into us, surely they should be grateful how well it's been spent
Jattdogg Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 Nothing to see here. Lets get trumps minions on this. Close thread. Fake news.

worthosoriginals Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 On a more serious note... Does this mean no more free beers?

ajthefox Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 Quote The company has run the duty-free business for more than 10 years, and if the firm had committed any offences, it should have been found guilty long ago, he said. Sounds like they're guilty and they know it!
Ted Maul Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 Surely they're too big a company for something like this to not be picked up on earlier? Unless they were carrying favour with the previous royalty. They are massive for a duty free retailer who hasn't expanded out of the South East Asia area though...

Wymsey Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 If Mike Ashley gets away what he's done via his company in recent times, it may make the current owners safe from punishment...
SheppyFox Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 So what? Put it into perspective, in terms us normal people would understand this is no more inconvenient than a boiler needing to be replaced, it isn't ideal and might hurt but it doesn't finish you
inckley fox Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 There have been scandals concerning King Power in the past, so it's not necessarily anything new. How the change of king affects this, I don't know. Hopefully there's no case to answer. What worries me is that - while £300m isn't a huge amount for them - if anything came out of this then it might be the first of many problems, rather than the beginning and end of their woes.
Clever Fox Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 If you want to know how Business is done in Thailand read a Book called Welcome to Hell. It's a true story about a British lad doing business in Thailand and what happened. It's a very good read with plenty of eye openers as to the Bureaucracy and corruption in Thailand.
Stadt Posted 7 July 2017 Posted 7 July 2017 "£300m isn't a huge amount for them" . King Power's revenue in 2014 was $1.8bn so it's unlikely they have a sixth of their income in cash reserves - most of KP's value would be tied up in assets as well.
