About the equivalent of just over 2 whole games less in league and about half a game more in UCL

but I Take your point he didn't play as often , but that could be down to him or his mental manager

he has massive potential , it's a punt worth taking

Of his 20 PL appearance last year, 9 were fewer than 6 minutes and 5 of them 1 minute or less.  Played only one 90 minutes away at Bournemouth and scored.

Scored 4 PL goals in 537 minutes which is less than 6 games in total according to whoscored.com

Over his two seasons he averages a goal every 104 minutes.  Better than Aguero or anybody else for that matter.

Don't know why you're so down on him.

The OP assumes this will happen. In light of the delay and pending litigation I have doubts. I hope we have alternatives waiting in the wings.

Rubbish.

He is being sold as Man City have added Jesus and he slips down the pecking order.

He played much less minutes last year because of that.  This kid still has the best minutes to goals ratio in PL history.

:nigel:

If he was good enough he wouldn't be being sold ... that's FACT

he is falling short at Man City and isn't good enough for them

and if he banged in a hatful last year he wouldn't be being sold

so it's not rubbish ... it's logic

i think he can progress but he is not a guaranteed sure thing ... let's see how he reacts to being pushed out

Man City are in the market for the world's best players.  He is not as good as Aguero or Jesus, don't you get it?

He is an excellent player and better than anyone we have except Mahrez

Iheanacho is a younger, quicker version of Okazaki. More prolific as well and will probably finish off more chances than Okazaki has had.

Iheanacho's ability to stay on his feet is much better as well :D

Bambi on ice spent more time stood up ffs lollol

If he wasn't good enought, mancity won't desperately put buy back clause on him. that's FACT

he just not mature enough for big teams like manchester city, so they offload him while they put buyback clause to get him back once he reach his own potential

lot of good player were sold with buy back clause during their youth for this purpose. Pique Gerrard, Cesc Fabregas, etc.

you should not only see a player offloaded. you must see how their club offload them

Nope, it's not.

You're still failing to understand that Leicester and Man City are in the market for different players.  If Man C can afford to buy the world's elite then the point is that Ihenacho is not in that class BUT is still an excellent player and international class.

Look at it this way.  If Jose says that Chris Smalling is no longer needed at Man United, do you, on that basis, say that if he is not good enough for Man U then he is not good enough for us?   You'd take him in a heartbeat.

As for the buy back clause.  It is widely reported and common knowledge.  You know that full well.  If you're in a hole stop digging as they say.

Buy back clause ... how can there be a buy back clause lol there is NO contract lol so no clauses existed

Widely reported ... your having a mare now mate lol

Man City can only afford to put out superstars.  If they can buy someone better, they will and have.

Its not that Kelechi isnt good, its that they have Aguero and Gabriel Jesus is brilliant from what i've seen of him, will be a monster of a player.  If we want a sure thing we may as well buy Deeney

You're right. Even Bony scored a crap load of goals at Man City! Bony was so good they loaned him to Swansea to share the wealth.

Don't even bother looking at Iheanacho's senior international record. 6 goals and 3 assists in 10 matches with Nigeria is shit.

Well at least you're having fun in your own little world Gaelic, but just putting lots of emiticons on your post doesn't make it any less of a pile of garbage.

“We’ll have an option to have the opportunity in a few years to bring him back."

Not my words, that was Pep Guardiola.  The contract is waiting to be signed and if you don't think there will be a buy back clause then lets have a hundred squid on it if and when he signs.  It has been reported everywhere, but you know best.  You must know about it unless you've been living in a cupboard under the stairs.

As for the Smalling comparison, it was your argument that Man C must be getting rid of him because he's not good enough.  The Smalling comparison is just an extension of your own logic.  If I'm 'having a mare' you're running the full Grand National.

We will have to agree to disagree on whether he is "Totally unproven"  at PL level but a goal every 104 minutes over 2 seasons suggests he is proven, aswell as scoring at international level.

Got to say, I didn't for one second expect us to ever be in for Iheanacho. Up until Pep, the lad looked absolute quality. I remember looking at him and thinking fkin'Ell Man citeh have found another world class player. Then last season, he was injured and then Pep brought his preferred youngster Jesus in. Now we're looking likely to get him and he is top quality. If we get him he has the potential to be a real player for us. I just hope the rest of the team step up. Vardy and Kasper will. It's the defence and midfield including the wings that need to prove it. Like a lot of people, I'm concerned about the lack of a proper #baller in midfield, about the downturn in both drinky and Ndidi's form (even the latter dipped at the end), about the lack of proper competition for Simpson at right back and about the lack of club commitment demonstrated by both Mahrez by his stated desire to leave and by Gray through his constant agitating with the press, presumably because he's had his head turned by his agent. If neither wants to stay then we'll need to buy another creative player of Iheanacho's standard to play in the same team! But I certainly would relish the thought of a front two of Vardy and Iheanacho!

Agree with the part about Ineanacho should be top class and is left footed as well, deadly combination with Vardy's right and his link up play seems pretty good for his age and isn't affair to run with the ball or go past a man successfully, a real coup this will be... Niddi should be stronger this season too so can't see there being a problem in the middle if Drinkwater is back to his best.

We have Gray, Marhez and Albrighton and Iborra so link up so I think we would be looking pretty strong if we get Ineanacho.

I don't get the completion thing for Simpson, its not like he drops his game he is continuously solid and we have Amartey as backup if required.

Roll on Arsenal!

Another creative player would be nice and a defender.

For me, Simmo is a diligent and competent defender but offers little going forward and isn't a great passer of the ball. He certainly didn't help Mahrez much going forward and probably vice versa. Not convinced that Amartey offers enough to be a proper rival for him or a different enough option.

Iheanacho is not a nine. That's where pep has got it wrong, it was funny at times watching him trying to do hold up play or link up for man city as a lone striker. He doesn't have the size, not much pace and doesn't dribble much, then why pep would insist on playing him with his back to goal and restricted to passing the ball around is beyond understanding. His greatest asset is high accuracy shots from anywhere in the box and as long there is a top striker to take attention he'll be alright,  very unselfish and gives loads of beautiful assists. He is not a ten either in the traditional sense of a playmaker he doesn't dictate play, more of a false nine or something else. When played as a top nine he is easily marked out, but when given free role behind the main striker many good things happen. Which why I think he'd be perfect for Mr Vardy.
