Sees Mahrez weaving around his two markers, races onto Mahrez's deft pass and into the box, then exactly slot the ball to where Vardy indicates and finally casually canters over for a double high five.

This could be the start of something. I watched JV's goal v. Liverpool from the title season over and over again. This season I are mostly watching their goal.

Leicester new boy Kelechi Iheanacho hailed by captain Wes Morgan

Quote

'He's a very, very good player. He's sharp and quick and he's definitely got an eye for goal,' Morgan said.

'We did a round-robin tournament today and he was on my team. He popped up with some great goals from impossible positions, which is refreshing.

'It's good to see someone with that know-how, someone with a different acuteness that adds something to the team.

'I think he'll come and do a great job for us.'

It seems like we've added another player that has fantastic technical ability, aside from Mahrez we were lacking in that department. As great as Vardy is you'd be hard pressed to say he's an outstanding player with the ball at his feet (although he has improved significantly in that regard) as his strengths are his workrate, movement and pace.

I refer you to a couple of his touches against BMG, especially the control for his first goal...

He did say he'd improved, and that was only a few touches in s friendly. Hopefully he'll replicate it all season but thus far in his career he's not had to have a world class touch when he'll be first to a ball with his acceleration and pace anyway.

From his Man City spell we know Nacho has had an adept first touch for a couple seasons, and it's been clear in some games that we've been crying out for a forward who's not quite as direct as Vardy and whilst we'd be had Ulloa and Slim to play this role Iheanacho is a massive step up.

On top of that, in the classic 'behind the 9' role Okazaki has been instrumental in having someone a lot stronger and balanced with a quality first touch could be massive. Could really be a massive partnership if it clicks and the service is there.

You can have a brilliant first touch and still not be an outstanding technical player - the likes of Inzaghi and RVN spring to mind. Vardy isn't somebody that scores from distance or is capable of spraying passes around.

Not been this excited about the potential of a strike partnership since Heskey and Collymore lined up together!

Let's hopes it lasts a bit longer than  H + C eh.

If he wasn't good enought, mancity won't desperately put buy back clause on him. that's FACT

he just not mature enough for big teams like manchester city, so they offload him while they put buyback clause to get him back once he reach his own potential

lot of good player were sold with buy back clause during their youth for this purpose. Pique Gerrard, Cesc Fabregas, etc.

you should not only see a player offloaded. you must see how their club offload them

Looks like the buy back clause was to fool us into buying a baby donkey !!!

He has to start one of the next three matches

Why does he? Strongest team for every premier league game.

Feel that they're too similar to be playing together as a two up-front partnership.

But feel they could work combined effectively if they were in a three on different sides, and someone more better in the air such as Slimani for example in the middle.

Hope Vardy is rested against Manchester City and Iheanacho given a chance to play the No 9 role...

Vardy hasn't looked his menacing self lately!

Why did we buy Iheanacho ( £25 million), Slimani (£ 30 million) and Musa ( £ 16 million)?lol  £71 million, just to warm the bench.lol:scarf:. Iheanacho could have stayed in Man City itself if he we did not intend to play him at all.

How the negotiation probably went...

Us: 20 million for Iheanacho?

Them: 30 million, he's good.

Us: 22 million.

Them: 28 million, but we can buy him back for 35 if he's as good as we think.

Us: Wow - he must be good, buy him, profit anyway after he bags a load.

Them: Hahaha that's the Gabriel Jesus fee offset.

Us six months later:

Iheanacho has been massively underwhelming. I had high hopes for this fella with his track record. Far worse feeling than Musa or Slimani who weren't proven in the PL. It's baffling how we've decided to buy him but not made plans to play him with Vardy.

To be honest, it hard to say how good he is when he has hardly played any games. It took Vardy about 1 or 2 seasons of regular play before he actually became the wrecking force he is now. A lot of our signings haven't been given a proper chance. Obviously the managers watch them train week in week out, so they must not be impressing in training either but does make you wonder how good they could be if they were played regularly. You only have to see how good Chris Wood is doing at Burnley or even Harry Kane. Both didn't look that great under us but both didn't get as much game time as they probably wanted either.

I'm holding my reservations against Slim and Iheanacho at the moment. I'd like to see them play more games. Suppose the problem is that Vardy is just too good for us and Okazaki compliments him so well. Now were playing 5 in midfield the options for strikers in our team is pretty small.

I think we should persevere with Iheanacho - for the rest of this season, at least.  Unlike Slimani (and Vardy !), he does have age on his side - he's only just turned 21.  I would guess Puel will think the same - he does believe in giving younger players an opportunity and we don't have many striker options in reserve - especially if we sell Slimani and Musa in January (and possibly Ulloa) - Thomas is more an attacking midfielder.

Of course, CP could well go out and buy a new striker - one name we were linked with in the summer, was George Hirst at Wednesday.  Seemingly we offered £1m+, but Wednesday turned us down (then).  I wouldn't be surprised if we go back in for him - to replace Slimani and possibly Ulloa, as a target man / reserve central striker - to play alongside Iheanacho and Thomas.

He's played enough for Man City to show he's got plenty to offer. It's disappointing that we've paid all this money to much fanfare and don't use any of them.
Vardy has the excuse of having had to jump up a few levels, whereas Nacho should rightly be expecting to start games for us from the off.

Things might not work out with these players, but it's ridiculous that we've spent the amount of money we have again and again and again and there's very little to show for it. And you might include Kramaric to the list as well, who's now doing pretty well in the Bundesliga.
