If Gray goes I would see this as a signal that Mahrez would stay. The club won't be that stupid to sell both, and I'm.sure Gray has been told that when Mahrez moves on, he'll be the main man.

steflcfc Posted 2 August 2017 Posted 2 August 2017 If someone stumps up the cash for Mahrez, Gray is the next in line to take his starting spot. Our main problem is we rely on Mahrez too much that he has to create something every time. He is playing with the world on his shoulders, and I feel that pressure is affecting his game. As he and most know that, our other midfielders don't really create much from open play. I feel we are carrying too many centre midfielders who all do the same job, sit back, win the ball and short pass....job done. They rarely bomb forward and join the attacks. If we do put Gray in, he will unfortunately have to take on that same responsibility and it will be a lot for a young lad to take on. when he receives the ball, something productive will need to happen. We desperately need an attacking CM who can play between the strikers and midfielders to give Mahrez/Gray more licence to show what they are made of.

Livid Posted 4 August 2017 Posted 4 August 2017 I honestly don't think either of them are going anywhere. I think the management team showed a little too much loyalty last season and Gray should have been given more of a chance. I know it would probably mean his mate Slm getting dropped but I'm hoping Iheanacho making a few runs up front may kick Mahrez into life a bit.
