Mahrez 4

James 6

Ndidi 5

Fuchs 5

Maguire 7

Morgan 4

Simpson 4

Sub's all 4

Shakey 3. As bad of game management as Spurs at home. Subs bizarre and not needed. King would have been better for James, and Slim for Shinji.

Maguire is good on the ball and going forward but too slow to play an offside trap with Morgan, good interplay with Fuchs. Comedy errors by both defences.

How can you just ignore the way shakey set us up from the start? The subs you suggest stent n much different from those that happened!

And Fuchs 5? Were we watching the same match?

Kasper 7 - Made a couple important/good saves

Simpson 6 - No help from Mahrez

Morgan 6

Maguire 6 - Dominant

Fuchs 6

Albrighton 7 - Tired but was superb, quality of crossing excellent

N'Didi 6

James 6 - Knew he wouldn't last 90. Worrying how players easily get past him, mind

Mahrez 4 - Should have been hooked

Okazaki 7 - Excellent

Vardy 8 - Superb performance. The usual Vardy performance along with two excellent goals

Shakespeare 4 - Iheancho sub fvcked everything, including the shape

Marks tumbled for most (especially the manager) after what happened in the last eight minutes.

NB

Vardy - when on song, he is virtually uncontainable

Mahrez - his first half rating was a big fat zero

James - he was second to the ball on too many occasions. He tried hard enough but the fact is he's too slow (against quality opposition) and always will be. We desperately need some zip and creativity in central midfield.

Agree. Players go past him so easily.

Kasper - 6 -  Made a couple of great stops and ultimately had no chance for their goals. Distribution seemed more clinical this time too.

Simpson - 5 - He's getting found out. Couldn't cope with their movement in the slightest and really didn't command the ball enough.

Morgan - 3 - Genuinely dreadful. We were all a bit fearful last season that his age would catch up with him and he looked like a lost puppy out there. For Lacazette's goal, he went towards Maguire's man instead of knowing where a £55 million pound striker was. He's 5ft 5 - he shouldn't be allowed to win headers in our box.

Maguire - 6 - Some dodgy passes but made some superb blocks, passed it out from the back and looked very composed. Great signing imo and will look even better next to Huth.

Fuchs - 6 - Got forward and used his experience very well. He is still a quality left back by all accounts.

Mahrez - 4 - Nothing came off for him aside from one ball to Vardy - in fairness, Arsenal were touch tight to him and as soon as the ball landed at his feet he had 3 players around him. Credit to Arsenal for sticking to that as it nullified him completely and I think he'll get a lot more joy against Brighton.

James - 6 - Looked decent. Really decent considering it's his first start in 2 years. Got stuck in as well as he could against a team that really makes midfields work.

Ndidi - Same as James really - did his job well - would have liked to have seen him venture forward more often.

Albrighton - 8 - He will be a real asset this season. His energy was immense and his delivery looked even better than last season. One of our best players easily.

Okazaki - 8 - Great to see him score and he won a number of headers. Typical Okazaki performance and it's something Iheanacho will need to learn from.

Vardy - 9 - He harried, hassled and hurt Arsenal. Jamie Vardy is truly the gift that keeps on giving. Buried both chances he had comfortably too - looks like he's been working hard over pre-season.

Very good summary.

Vardy 8

Subs 5

Shakespeare 5. Don't get the hate. Okay he screwed up the Nacho sub which very probably gave the Arses a victory they weren't hoping for, but I found that we played actually well, pressing high and SCORING. 3 against Arsenal away ain't nothing. He can't do much when the defense went asleep on set pieces.

Big work on the defense is necessary, especially set pieces. Yesterday was a reminder of why Huth must start over Morgan. FB and CB really needed. 2 in the middle away is too light-weight against teams like Arsenal.

Vardy was excellent and hopefully he'll keep this form along the season. Good game from Shinji as well.

Mahrez was shit the first half. The worst performance I've seen from him to date. Partly because Arsenal effectively marked him out of the game but also because he was so desperate to have the match of his life that he completely screwed up anything he tried to do. His head's clearly messed up and he needs to clear things out, otherwise it will be a very long season for him. Shakey did well to not sub him at the half-time though, as it would have destroyed his confidence and he assisted the third goal. Should have been taken out after that though.

People should go easy on james though his first PL game since for ever, away and against Arsenal. He did okay.

King (or Iborra) has a lot more game awareness and experience than Amertey for closing down games, and Slim holds up the ball better.

Arsenal were always going to be hard to contain at the end, but we made it too easy for them.

I downmarked Fuchs because of being part of a defence shedding six goals. The 4th one in particular.

Kasper 8 Some brilliant saves. He's absolutely fantastic and thank god he's ours.

Simpson 6 Did ok but left exposed by Mahrez too often and Arsenal killed us in the wide areas.

Morgan 6 At fault for the first goal but think people are being a little harsh on him. Did ok.

Maguire 7 The new Steve Walsh.

Fuchs 6 Good going forward but as with Simpson, Arsenal had so much possession down the wings it was a difficult night for him.

Albrighton 7 First half he was our best player. Tenacious in both defence and attack. Faded badly in the second half.

James 5 I love James but I think the high ratings he's getting are more sentimental than anything. He looked well off the pace for large parts, chasing shadows mostly. Sure he'll get better- it was a big ask to play in a game like that after so long out.

Ndidi 5 As with James, chasing shadows a lot. Needs to impose himself more.

WE CANNOT SELL DANNY DRINKWATER

Mahrez 5 Pretty awful game from Riyad. Would maybe start Gray against Brighton.

Okazaki 8 Fell over loads, lost possession loads but we missed him when he went off. Took his goal fantasticly too. It wasn't an easy header.

Vardy 9 Sensational.

We cannot get through games against the top sides with so little possession. We need to keep the ball better. Drinkwater helps us do that and we can't let him go.

Dont think the Iheanacho sub killed us like some thought. I think he brought him on to help the ball stick better in the Arsenal half. Unfortunately we just kept giving them the ball back and inviting pressure.

When did the fifth and sixth happen - even beeb sport doesn't know about them...

Strange one to try and rate, don't think any of the subs performed particularly poorly - amartey, ndidi and James as a trio were repelling a lot, iheanacho was on the periphery a bit, yet it'd be hard to argue the subs didn't hand the impetus to arsenal...

Kasper 6

Simpson 6

Morgan 6

Maguire 7 bargain of a signing

Fuchs 6

Mahrez 5 Not at his best, but set up our 3rd goal. Was a part of the reason they scored their second but not fully to blame like others think so

James 5 off the pace, but understandable due to being out for so long

Ndidi 6

Albrighton 7

Okazaki 7

Vardy 9 he will score 20+ this season

Amartey 6

Iheanacho N/A

Gray N/A

New RB needed for backup and probably look at bringing in a CB too

Shakespeare 5 I hope that he reflects long and hard on substitution tactics
Schmeichel 7 Kept out a few net bound shots, out of position for one of the goals
Simpson 7 Steady, needs better link up/supportfrom mahrez
Morgan 5 Not at his best. would perefefr that he doesn't start in th efuture
Maguire 8 some good play, although he forgot his day job a few times and spent too much time in attack
Fuchs 6 steady game. I'm sure we'll see better from him soon.
Mahrez 6 Unimpressive. made 1 goal and cost us 1 sadly. I feel it's time to let him go elsewhere.
James 6 Solid but slow, but better than Drinkwater has been for a good while. wouldn't mind if he starts BHA game.
Ndidi 6 Not at his best today, gve the ball away quite easily on occasions, but I'd like to see him and James start next game.
Albrighton 7 Put in a good shift provided some nice balls into the attack.
Okazaki 7 One of his better games, he needs some bigger batteries, just wish he could keep it going for a full 90 mins
Vardy 9 class act at his very best.
subs not rated
Opposition 7
Officials 5
Shakespeare - stay...but not for too long if you make subs like that...

One of the better Vardy/Okazaki returns of late. Thought that they took their chances well, but we have to produce more of them.

We could have used DD and Iborra. Amartey is a CB, not a midfielder.

Shakey 3 - Still have no idea what he was thinking making a change like that with a few minutes to go, absolutely bonkers.

Both injured

Edit: Sorry may have misunderstood. Did you mean "could have done with..."?

Yeah, it would have been nice to have had them available. My bad.

I'm a huge fan of Matty James but agree, he looked really off the pace.

Let's hope that's due to top level match practice and not just his legs having gone after the injury, since he has a lot to offer when we are attacking and trying to break teams down and technically speaking he may well be our most gifted CM.
