Exactly, and that's the Managers fault. He's seen what we've seen the past few games and done nothing to prevent today's miss.
dynamark Posted 23 September 2017 Posted 23 September 2017 We all had a bad feeling before that one today sort of collective we know what will happen and it did/
Matt Posted 23 September 2017 Posted 23 September 2017 Yeah I knew it wasn't going in before he stepped up. I knew he was gonna go straight down the middle. I knew it was gonna be saved. Call me a psychic...or call him predictable. I'd be giving Mahrez or Slimani stick, I'll give Vardy stick. Awful.

Detroit Blues Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 That's three games in a row vardy has missed crucial chances at the end. The cross against chelsea he just couldn't get a head on, the sitter against Huddersfield, and the penalty vs Liverpool. He's been good this season, but not good enough to get these results over the line. Blame Shakey all you want, but vardy does what he's supposed to and we got 4-5 more points than we do now.
Bert Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 Vardy is our best player and most consistent player. Poor and predictable penalty but the bloke is absolute top drawer.
Guest ttfn Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 The reality is that Vardy's had great success from smashing it down the middle. The vast majority of goalkeepers won't ever stand still, even if they know there's a good chance it's going down the middle because they know they'll look like a tit if it gets rolled in the bottom corner (Oblak in the 2016 CL final is the best example of this). Unfortunately for Vardy, Mignolet is not one of those goalkeepers, as he showed earlier this season when he easily swatted away Kramaric's penalty for Hoffenheim by standing still and waiting for the kick. Perhaps had Vardy done his homework as well as Mignolet we'd have got something out of the game. He's not a bad penalty taker - I think his record is 6 out of 8 which whilst not great is probably not grounds for him being changed as the designated taker.
David Hankey Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 I hate to say this but chanting "England's, England's Number 9" is far from the truth.

Sorry but just no, that’s harsh. Yet again Vardy is the only threat we have and again creates that penalty himself - good run, got their first, wins it. I’m not going to blame Vardy when others are individually not good enough and the cause of goals we concede. We shouldn’t be in a position to be needing to score a third goal, at home, to draw a game level. The first two Liverpool goals are poor to concede, especially the first. The third we lose the ball easily in central midfield. I could easily blame others as much as Vardy.
Manwell Pablo Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 Do find the shit penalty line quite funny, exactly the same penalty he's taken every time he's stepped up I didn't see any one slating it when it worked. Yes it's predictable but a lot of penalty takers are and have a favoured approach and side of the goal.

I read plenty of comments in the media after the Huddersfield game saying that the next keeper to face a vardy pen needs the guts to just stand still - hoping that next time we get one, kelechi, Iborra or silva are on the pitch.

He just came up short, that's all, no one is saying that he is being lazy or anything, but the cost the team point. That's about 4 pointe down the drain. Not saying drop him or anything (that would be a stupid thing to do). I'm just saying that he could've done better.

Vardy's misses get highlighted yet you've forgotten Kasper should have saved the first two ?
