When I saw it back, it looked to me that JV paused for a nano-second, as he wasn't sure the ball was coming past the other players involved. So vaguely reminiscent (in spirit) of the famous Gazza miss in 1996.

Seeing it on MOTD it looked so simple and uncharacteristic,unchallenged and an open goal!

Agree,I dont want him to leave though. It was a bad miss but it stands out more because he does not get many chances. So far this season hes only had 8 shots in 5 games with 4 on target but still has 4 goals. In comparison to other strikers at other clubs it not a bad record so far. lukaku has had 20 shots with 9 on target, Harry kane has had 32 shots with only 11 on target 2 goals.

it will become the middle part of the Vardy life story movie .... after this miss he will turn to drugs and booze his wife will leave him and he will hit rock bottom ..... but wait CS will be sacked and Vardy (bearded and in rags) will return to training (from nowhere) and score the wining goal as LCFC wins its 2nd PL title .. working on the script now.

Was a terrible miss he didn't even really try to connect with the ball but it was definitely a shot by mahrez and it fizzed across the goal at speed.

Bad miss and he looked visible annoyed. My sympathies to him though as he was caught thinking Mahrez was shooting. 

 

However, Demerai Gray. Gets around the defender, did the really hard part but rather than shoot, hits the deck looking for a penalty. Considering Vardy got a yellow for Moss in that famous game. How didn't Gray get one? That was annoying

You're being harsh. It could happen to any striker. Mahrez's cross was really fast.

 

In fact I wouldn't be surprised if this cross was meant as a shot on target rather than a pass to Vardy.

I think it was mentioned above, yes it was a bad miss, but if you're blaming this on us not getting 3 points, you've got to look at Maguire too because his individual error cost us the goal. 

 

I was there and tbh I didn't realise at the time just how bad Vardys miss was, but it's hard to criticise a striker whom without the last few years would have been so very different. In my opinion he's a top class striker with an instinct for goal. I really hope we are able to keep him tbh.
