Vardy's miss

Agree,I dont want him to leave though. It was a bad miss but it stands out more because he does not get many chances. So far this season hes only had 8 shots in 5 games with 4 on target but still has 4 goals. In comparison to other strikers at other clubs it not a bad record so far. lukaku has had 20 shots with 9 on target, Harry kane has had 32 shots with only 11 on target 2 goals.

This.

Hes our best player by miles in terms of end product and his conversion rate compares favourably with other top stikers.

The difficulty for him is that this season we don't create enough chances for him in open play, so one miss in a game is crucial.

Harry Kane is a good player but very greedy. He shoots from anywhere and gets plenty of chances served up for him so if he misses one, he has the luxury of knowing there is another on the way and generally a few misses here and there doesn't make much of a difference.

Football is such bloody fine lines.

If Vardy had just scored that simple chance  (let's face it, it was a fookin sitter) we'd be looking at all things LCFC very differently at the mo.

Misses a sitter, scores an absolute belter ( remember THAT goal against Liverpool) ...  thats what strikers do ...   without him we really would be sh1te.

He probably gets less opportunities now (especially after DD has gone) which adds a little extra pressure ...   he'll come good.

We all knew someone was going to start this thread.

It's a cheerful one and certainly not meant as a dig at Vardy.

1) Pure awesomeness.

2) Wait for Silva.

Some are reading too much into this. He played most of last season and produced precious few assists/chances for Vardy.

We fans need to realise that the things that made us so successful for 1½ seasons have proven to be too difficult to consistently replicate.

We have created very, very chances in general in the PL since the start of last season. Our 'style' is no longer particularly effective.

The most famous is of course is Ronny Rosenthal against Aston Villa!

Or Torres against Man Utd... what a howler that was.

AND if he'd have scored it, it would have been 2-1 and I'm telling you we'd have won.

2-1

That is the common fate of any counter attacking team's striker. They have to make the most out off the scraps of chances they will get during 90', and thus, be more clinical than a possession team's striker.

Been shit since he started playing for england. Whats all that pointing bollox about.

The pointing I think is telling the rest of our players to mark up when the other team have goal kick etc, or to get them all pressing together.

They are not bothered with that now it seems.

And the 'shit' bit.....you are taking the piss aren't you?

There is a middle ground between "He's shit, bin him" and "he's a legend, we couldn't ask for a better player, etc." He's done brilliantly to draw 2 penalties (and score) in the last two matches, but there's no defending his miss. Mahrez served that ball up for him on a silver platter, and Vardy absolutely choked. I'm sure he'd be the first one to blame himself for Leicester not walking away with 3 pts.

I'm sure that miss will eat at him, and hopefully push him to improving his play against Liverpool.

Never used to point when he was banging them in.

I think he suffered from having too many penalties already this season... I think everyone in the ground knew where and how it was going... Including Mingolet!

He's an awful penalty taker and the fact that he missed is Shakeys fault. He's the Manager he's supposed to manage and decide who will take Penalties. How long did he think it was going to take for someone to save one.

After the last two terrible efforts, Shakey should have taken him off duty. or better still, Show him how to take a proper penalty.

It's a sad state of affairs when we don't have a guy on the first eleven who can't stick the ball in the net from a pen...I love u x vardy but I've seen the last few pens and he got away it..a small bit of cop on and we are three three today and after that who knows ?
