Claridge Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 Not sure whats up with him,but has been poor this season. Kante's goal,Huddersfield's and poor effort for the header yesterday.. A top keeper would have saved all of them.
Sublime_Coatsworth Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 Agreed. For someone I always considered as one of the top 3 in the Premiership, he's been pretty average this year
Livid Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 I think you might get shot down but I've only seen the Huddersfield goal once, so can't really comment but the other two definitely. I honestly thought that one yesterday had hit the side netting (I'm in G1) as I didn't even contemplate him getting beaten from there.
sk3since03 Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 The header yesterday and Kante’s goal, he should of saved comfortably by his standard Huddersfield goal, it was a good finish to be fair
ForeverandEver Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 Can somebody explain why he stands on one side of the goal for the free kick anticipating the ball to go in that corner and then he struggles to get across every time? It's not the first time he's done it. I remember Burnley at home in the championship in the last minute he did the exact same thing and got caught again. Is it a goal keeping technique? Surely standing in the middle would give you a better option to obtain the ball either side? Maybe I'm missing something?
Fox92 Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 Agree. I knew right away Countinho would score the free kick. Happens all the time, that close, he never seems to get the wall right. The first was a joke, Salah or any player shouldn't be scoring from there.

st albans fox Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 OMG. - not the bloody free kick discussion again. yesterday's free kick was unsavable. Did you see the pace on the ball ? we can talk about the salah header (set himself too far from the post), Huddersfield shot (he has saved efforts like that before) and kante' shot (has to follow the trajectory and not wait for the deflection ) but please not that free kick he is performing below his usual standards but he isn't alone
Chico1958 Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 He's not been at his Best, But he's the Best we have. And that goes for the rest of them as well
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 To be honest, since the last game of last season I've felt he wants a move away. Just doesn't seem the same to me.

Normally it goes over the top of it anyway meaning, if the keeper is, as you point out standing at one side of the goal, he is invariably fuched - like yesterday.

Yeah that's why he should surely be over a bit. It would take a superb shot to put it the other side (not over the wall).
WigstonWanderer Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 Coutinho's kick took a deflection. But yes, he doesn't seem quite himself.
HybridFox Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 It's an odd one. Doesn't seem one to have his head turned as such, given no offers came in. But he doesn't look right. Ben Hamer looked pretty solid on Tuesday. I imagine his next game won't be until Leeds though...
dedlock Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 I was surprised when Kante's shot was not saved, the same with the Huddersfield goal from outside the box. We have come to expect high quality keeping over the last few seasons. There might be an argument that he could have covered his post better for Salah's goal yesterday but Coutinho 's delivery was to quality. His free kick was a worldly, unstoppable. Kasper may need to up his game with shots from outside the box but, generally,he is not far off the standard he has shown in previous seasons.
cropstonfox Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 A lot of top teams scouts have had a look at him ,but they see he's not quite good enough so no offers. He's back to his worst after 2 fairly decent seasons.

Not surprised he is angry! btw, how crap was that 15/16 season looking from goals conceded perspective, especially as we only had tough games to play v Spurs and Arsenal at home in those first seven fixtures.
somebum Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 He's a fantastic goalie just no good with crosses

Must be his personal preference though I'm not a goalkeeping expert. Agree that he looks too far over - would probably do better with no wall, taking up a central position in the goal.
nettle Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 He's probably angry because we have gone from winning the league to relegation fodder in two seasons!
Guest Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 every season he has a period early on that is disappointing and then comes through strongly. I get shot down when I say he's not as good as people make out at the end of each season but he's better than it appears at the moment. Good job since Jakupovic has looked poor.
